I honestly don't get this. Taylor seems to say they cause no end of trouble, and then says they're staying. Sounds like madness to me.

So, where do you stand on the handshaking thing?

Personally I think they should just cut it out, it doesn't demonstrate anything like respect or whatever, it just gives some of the muppets a handy stage to make a stupid point.

The whole thing is an embarrassment to football

Cricket, rugby, NFL, you name it....it would not have been allowed to fester on in this way like a load of pmt schoolgirls

The rest of sport is laughing at footballers and their pathetic little snubbing and word games

Ban it. It's a load of bollocks. The only pre match handshakes should be between the captains and ref during the coin toss.

It's obviously causing a lot of bother and they should stop it, but it shouldn't have come to that. The pussies should be able to shake someone's hand without all this dramatic bollocks. People like Anton Ferdinand and Suarez just need a good kick in the cock.

Think handshaking is more appropriate at the end of the game than before. What happened at the weekend has made the game and players look pretty daft and childish to be honest, especially on the back of the sportsmanship and behaviour shown at the Olympics. Kids are brought up to respect their opponents when they play sport, what kind of example does this show?

I can only remember being forced to shake the opponents hands once when I was playing sports and that was when the tournament was on TV. I don't get it personally as I think it is just for show. The captains and refs shacking hands is enough for me.

Wasn't hand shaking brought in because of fan violence. I may be completely wrong regarding this but it was to show that it was just a game of sport and not serious enough to cause violence among fans and at the end of the day all of the footballers were mates.

I think Anton Ferdinand should be punished just for being a tosser, I couldn't give a **** about handshaking but its just pathetic what he did.

Whilst playing 7-a-side at U-11 age we had to do the pre-match handshake for our eagerly anticipated Cup Semi-final with rivals Beacon Rangers for the right to play at the famous Shay Stadium. This had absolutely no effect whatsoever on the spirit the game was played in and still resulted in several heated incidents. Based on my experience i'd vote to scrap the handshake before the game <ok>

Given the amount of time this Exodus chap spends on our board, I find that hard to believe!

It should be stopped without delay IMO. It should never have started either. If i were a player i would refuse point blank to shake hands prior to the game. Its for after the game IF you want to do so.

Respect has to be earned. What happens now is nonsense.

I spend a lot of time on the (D)QPR board too. Does that mean I hate them, or just find them interesting/amusing?

No Hull massive tonight thanks to that Robber Bates. Looks like a half-empty at least Bellend Road. Enjoy your Bates Out protests though. Looks like thousands already have decided to protest from there own homes. Lol.
