Apparently suarez has been ordered by the scousers to shake Evra s hand this weekend if the latter plays. This is a big if as Evra's form s on the slide and he is likely not to play. But is it ever right to order a player to shake hands with another. Anton F and Park did not shake Terry's last weekend.

Do we want Suarez and Evra to shake hands when they both do not mean it?

Suarez claimed he was going to shake Evras hand last time and didn't.

The guy is scum and his word is ****. Entire team should snub him.

**** there personal problems, whether they mean it or not they are role models for youngsters playing football.

They can get over themselves for the 5 seconds it takes to shake each others hand so we can forget all about it and focus on the football not a silly handshake.

nah mate, Saurez had no intention to shake his hand, he didn't even look at Evra, when he put his hand up, Evra was puting his hand up ready to shake his hand but he just went straight to De Gea, you can see by that racist scum's face he didn't want to shake his hand, then after Evra grabbed his hand to shake his ahnd, he still went on.

If Suarez wanted to shake his hand he would of shook his hand when Evra lifted his arms up, if you look at the Ferdinand part, Saurez wanted to shake his hand so he waited for Rio to shake his hand but Rio blanked him. you can tell the racist scum didn't want to shake Evra's hand, if he did he would of shaken it when Evra lifted his hand to shake his hand.

    Suarez is a ****

**** off Christian, do you really think Evra would have 'meant it' even if it had happened last season at OT.<laugh>

If anything handshakes should be got rid of, none of the handshake refusals since Suarez/Evra has reached the same level of hate since either way in the press but 'making' someone do it is never going to work.

If Hughes or the QPR owners would have 'ordered' Anton to do it on saturday do you really believe he would have?

Of course Evra wouldn't have liked to touch a guy's hand who used racist words against him but he was professional, i know his hand was abit down but when Suarez came, when his hand was near, Evra took his hand up to shake his hand but he moved on and even then after Suarez snubbed him,Evra grabbed his hand to shake it but he he still moved on.

Doing away with the hand shake all together would solve any problems. It has become a complete joke. If a player wants to shake another players hand, do it the tunnel before going onto the pitch, and if a player had a problem with another player they simply didn't shake hands. But it was done out of sight of the public.

You must have a low reading ability! Where did I say that Evra would have meant it last season? <doh> ordering a handshake is a nonsense which only the ******ed scousers could ever do <ok>

It is good if teams and players genuinely mean it but when there is conflict it has become an unwelcome focus. If there is any animosity between any pair of players, the world now waits for the pre-match handshake.

I am sure that FIFA and UEFA and the FA didnt think of that consequence of their action.

The only people in the world who subscribe to this theory are the moronic ******ed scousers fans <ok> and of course tht s why dogsh1t and Suarez and the owners of anfailed had to issue a grovelling unreserved apology. <ok>

This. It's an unnecessary tradition which is creating more headlines than the actual football at the moment.

Completely agree. How can the handshake mean anything if the teams are essentially forced to do it?

It's like the teacher telling you to shake hands with the kid you just had a fight in the playground with. Yes sir, now you've made us shake hands I no longer hate this ****er's guts. Utterly pointless.

If the handshake is to mean anything, it has to be a voluntary thing the players do as and when they want to. Not some pseudo-communist 'respect the rules or be ostracised' tradition.

This. Handshakes should be done after the game and it should still be the players own choice to do so.

It's a formality. Should they just get on with it and focus on the game, I get the feeling the players think about this handshake business far less than we or the media do.

And you quote what rag when you say apparently? I reckon when asked about his thoughts on it Suarez had no issue and did not indeed need to be Ordered that is far more likely but less media worthy
