It is not inconceivable that we win (and well) at the Crispbowl next Sunday and humiliate the Weasels. It is not inconceivable that their fickle fans turn on Nigel Pearson and their impatient board sack our former manager. We've done it to bigger names than him in the past, as clubs imploded in our wake.
National media reports suggest and Pearson confirms it that the Thai owners HAVE ORDERED Pearson to get promotion this season or else ? What deluded fools the Thai's are. You order food not promotions, ffs.
If we are on song and take the piss, he might go as their fans turn on him. He's been there nearly a year and they're still not in the Champions League.
Pearson started rebuilding City which I'm grateful for but he left thinking Leicester were a bigger club, his mistake they are not, its all come out OK with us getting a far better manager in Steve Bruce, Pearson to get sacked in the morning soon no doubt.
I honestly can't find it in me to hate him or wish him ill. He left us in a MUCH better position than when he turned up, and in fact Nick benefited from that for a long time. Ok he wasn't Mr PR on the radio or TV but honestly, and I said at the time, I didn't care. He WAS a good manager for us. He got offered a bigger pay day and in the fickle world of football, he did what anyone of us would have done. I don't hate Leicester either, I mostly just pity them, their fans are more delusional than TWS fans. Nige never stiffed us, he never robbed us, he never did us any harm in fact so, whilst I hope we hump them, I won't take any joy from his job prospects.
Pearson raped this club, quite frankly. All whilst our fans buried their heads in the sand and our inept and complacent "Director of Football Operations" looked on and let him do it. Thank God Leicester mercifully stepped in when they did, otherwise he'd have no doubt caused more irreparable damage. I lay the blame for dwindling attendances and the serious lack of atmosphere right at his door. As I've said before, he made people simply not care about Hull City, and I don't think anybody can argue that the club is in a damn better position without him than we would have been with him. As we never got the opportunity to sack him ourselves, beating them in his final game in charge will have to do.
Explain why you think its daft? Nick took over the exact team Nige left and we carried on in similar form for some time...it's a perfectly reasonable statement.
Not really mate. Don't know why you reference Barmby all the time to be fair. He didn't get a proper go at the job did he. It's a bit like people writing off the likes of Jay Simpson on the playing side. Things have worked out well but they might well not have done.
You know Madhog, I used to think you were ****ing mental. But in fact, You're OK and speak a lot of sense.
The only way Nick benefitted from Pearson was that he got far too many appearance fees than he should have.
You've really got me all wrong on Nick..he had my 100% support from day 1 til when he left. I didn't think he was up to the job, and I still don't but he still had 100% support from me. The post here, I simply said in defence of Nige really, Nick had the same squad and for a while they did ok, not having a go at Nick, just saying Nige had sorted us out with what has since become a good starting point. I know I have "form" since Nick left, but please don't read bad stuff into anytime I mention his name I love you man.
You're right about Pearson anyway, he got us on a very solid footing and did as well as anybody could have expected after the wreckage of relegation and the financial mess we were in, not to mention dealing with the likes of Bullard etc.
Awww cheers N, after DMD smacked my bottom yesterday, I sat back, thought about how some of my posts could be misread/not understood for the genius that they are, and decided to read everything twice before I hit Post! Oh I've also made a decision to stop reacting so quickly. So far its working ok and its making this a much more pleasant experience.
