"If he had known then what he knows now about the circumstances, everybody's movements and Mr Tomlinson's health, he would have used no force, let alone the force if did" PC Harwood's counsel statement today. Well I wonder if the same level of leniency is shown towards the next member of the public who uses that defence against manslaughter. I'm sorry M'lud, but I wish I hadn't done it now isn't a defence you or I would escape justice with let me tell you. It was said at his earlier trial, in some kind of defence, that "his blood was up" (another way of saying he lost his temper and was looking for trouble) and yet if I or you used this as a defence we'd probably get extra punishment and very little sympathy. Maybe the next time I feel angry at work, I'll just punch and shove a customer to make me feel better and if they fall over and die I'll pull a Harwood. This is just another example of police corruption in covering their dirty arses again, after one of their thugs commits a crime against an innocent person. There are no doubts in my mind that without modern technology being available in the hands of the common folk, this time via a mobile phone video, this is another case the police would have covered up and lied about. In fact, they did just that and denied any assault ever took place until that footage surfaced and the **** hit the proverbial. The first post mortem actually carried out said natural causes. Then after this footage was released into the public domain, it was suddenly internal bleeding. It's a ****ing disgrace and far from police bashing, this is am example of how they are being undermined from within. There is a massive trust issue here between us and the police, caused by their desire to cover up their errors. So he has been sacked. Big deal he still has his full pension and will continue to live a long and free life. Ian Tomlinson lost his life and was unlawfully killed. Harwood was to blame for causing and affecting that end to his life. If Ian Tomlinson had not been struck and shoved by Harwood, he would not have died that day for sure. Indeed, Harwood had a history for bullying and violent outbursts, as witnessed in a road rage incident way back in 2000 when he was off duty. He was and still is imo, a loose canon who believed as a serving policeman he could do what he wanted and be immune from prosecution, a fact which would have sadly been true without the phone evidence. If mobile phones had been around 23 years ago, the police wouldn't have been able to lie and besmirch the memories of the fallen at Hillsborough either. Until the police are prepared to prosecute the guilty people and thuggish elements within its own ranks, how can we trust what they say or do anymore? This show’s the police have learned nothing in 23 years imo. I hope the family of Ian Tomlinson can find solace sometime soon but I know if it were my father that had died, I'd pursue Harwood without mercy to my grave, to try and get him convicted.
One of the problems is that investigations against accusations of police brutality etc are inevitably investigated by fellow police officers.
I fully respect and value the police force in this country but until they can show they are not above conviction for crimes the ordinary public would be prosecuted for, I distrust what they tell me and report. The police are there to uphold the law but in doing so, they cannot be held above it, or the whole system will come crashing down around us very quickly.
Been on the receiving end of corrupt police, won't go into the details but fortunately I held my calm knowing they had nothing to fall back on and eventually they dropped the matter. There is no story you could tell me about the police that I wouldn't believe, corrupt from the bottom up I believe. Used to think it was a great system with the odd bad apple, I think it's the exact opposite now.
Mate of mine got ID'd in a London tube station by a victim of a mugging. He was there with a copper eyeballing people coming in and out of the station where it happened. It was a month after the event, so you'd have thought the copper would have been a bit dubious about an ID after all that time, but when he questioned my mate the witness piped up: "Oh yeah, I forgot to say that the bloke was Scottish" (my mate's a jock). Dodgy call? Not a bit of it. Even when my chum produced cast-iron evidence that he wasn't there when it happened the cops didn't let it drop. He was on the steps to the Court when the CPS solicitor came out and told him they were letting it go. They simply cannot accept it when they are in the wrong.
Can't see the picture but judging by your posting history I'll presume it is worthy of one big massive Also, promoting another site is surely against the rules of this forum, just cos it only has 6 active members doesn't mean you can put it in your sig
Not really Then again, not often on the lookout for people's usernames being ways of using bad, bad words without actually using them
Agree with you, it's a bad bunch with the odd good apple, my son was on the wrong end of the police 5 years ago, he was supposed to have kicked a car as he rode his push bike past it, at that time he was away with the army on a recruitment course, but the police would not have that, the person who complained had a witness, that witness's statement read was 'my mother came in the house upset, she said someone kicked her car as he rode his bike, she said the thinks it was, ?????, riding a black bike', my son didn't have a bike anyway. So the police referred it to the CPS, our solicitor asked the police for a copy of the interview tape, which as far as I know still hasn't been supplied. My son went to court & was given absolute discharge, no fine, no compensatory payment. Now I must tell you that the people involved are 'friends of South Tyneside police' & therefore the police use them for statements if anything happens in the area. The police of South Tyneside are corrupt, try complaining about this family & you get hit with a brick wall.
Makes enough sense to me, so no, I won't My incident was also a complete fabrication of criminal damage. Truly amazed me how the men in uniform would sit there and lie without so much as flinching, just sat there and came out with their story in a calm and matter of fact tone. Was truly amazed. They said they'd received 7 calls from residents who'd seen my actions trying to make me buckle, wasn't having it like and eventually they realised they were barking up a pointless tree and excused themselves from my house after "letting me off with a talking to" for an offence that is worthy of jail
There was another occasion when the police knocked at my door, there had been an 'incident' & they had a witness to say it was my son, I explained to them that he was in Afghanistan on tour with the army & had been there about 2 months. A few weeks later they came back, he was still in Afghan & they asked me to tell him they wanted a word with him when he gets back, I basically said no & please go away, a few days later a couple of different officers were back again, so I said he's just been on the phone & he's just said he;'s just killed someone, shot 2 dead. well you can imagine the look on their faces, do you know where he is, where did this happen when did happen, etc, yes I said, the green zone, Sangin Valley, Afghanistan, they didn't think I was very funny, especially when I told them to **** right off out of my house & don't come back, like I said they have 'friends' in the area I live in & believe anything they say, I didn't tell my son when he came home on leave & I haven't seen the useless ****s since.
Classic. Amazing that they could show that little respect to someone abroad serving the country! The police really need to be told to get ****ed sometimes, too far up their own dishonest and shameless answers.
