Surely a fan is a fan regardless of if they wear a replica shirt, ben sherman inspired outfits, sing or not, stand or sit, foam hands or tiger paint and tiger onesies? I love the fact our stands have sometimes been a real wide mix, and the fully grown men in tiger suits and hats always makes me smile. Must take fair sized balls to wear that stuff too. I just don't see how waving a large foam hand makes you less of a fan than someone who doesn't. If you've paid your money to shout for and be happy if the Tigers win, you're a fan aren't you?
Meaning there are only 4,500 'proper' city fans? Wow we are in trouble! People wore shirts when there were only 6,000 at fer ark, I doubt all of those were 'premier league foam handers'.
Me too, everyone should be welcome, this fan elitism is ridiculous. While there's empty seats we should be encouraging all types of fans to turn up, not sneering at them when they do.
You got off very lightly in the end. Taylor your GK was the MAN of the Match imo. Saved you from 8 at least. Sorry to hear of your engine problems. Good luck until the 2nd Feb 2013 though.
Great, a debate about the songs we shouldn't sing in a stadium that usually needs librarians instead of stewards, and a debate about the fans we don't want there when we're getting crowds less than 15,000.
IMO the low gate on saturday was down to the club. They knew it would be low yet still offered No discount deals. The marketing dept must be on strike. Lol.
Exactly what I think, but some others on here see different, and specially on CI where I spent 5 minutes reading and saw nothing but clowns moaning about people daring to have some fun. People think wearing a replica shirt is being childish and 'dressing like a footballer', I see it different and wear mind a lot of the time, I think the stands looking like a big wall of colour looks good and is a way of showing support, not make believing I'm a footballer for a day. And those tiger suits, it's all fun and games, god forbid people who like to enjoy themselves at football. It really does my head in when people make claims about proper fans or what not, it doesn't matter if you've been going 50 years or 5 weeks, what you wear, what you shout, even how often you turn up (money allowing), we all want the best for the club and were all supporters, not one person can make a claim over any other about being a better fan. And those who make judgements against their own supporters are just snobs.
Disgusting. I'll be amazed if we even have a marketing department. Mr Allam is against paying for people who don't do their jobs.
Brilliant post mate, one of the main reasons why I don't post on CI anymore. It's full of people who claim to be better fans than the rest. I'm going to Leeds tomorrow regardless of the moronic price; I bet hardly any of those who accuse everybody of being less of a fan than them are. I agree with the replica shirts, buying them funds the Club, wearing it shows your supporting the Club, out of all my shirts, I wear my City ones the most because I'm proud of my team. It doesn't mean that I'm a 'foam-finger' fan at all. One of the best images at Wembley was that wall of orange in the Stand, I suppose that image is irrelevant to some because they're obviously not real fans...
