Well the day is almost upon us when thousands of people will take part in what has become one of the greatest and best known Marathon races in the World. Some running to try and win it but the majority just running to try and help good causes.

A very colourful and crazy race for some, with many entrants wearing costumes that make you laugh but must be hell for them to wear and compete in the race with.

Here's hoping the weather is going to be kind to them and not add to the challenge of completing the course.

I hope all the spectators lining the course will put their hands together and will all the contestants over the finishing line.

Good luck to everybody, I hope you enjoy it and get a lot of satisfaction from your efforts.

Sorry that I'm drawing attention away from a good cause, but I don't understand the rules with OT posts anymore.

How is this not posted on the off-topic thread?

What OT posts are acceptable to be posted as a thread?

Good luck to everyone who is taking part tomorrow. Whether they post on here, or just browse. Wish I was fit enough to do it.

It's football related in as much as some of our better known supporters and posters on these pages are actually taking part in the race to make money for Charity.

Cheers and thanks for the generous donation LTF. Apparently all the times of everyone from the North East are going to be in the Journal on Monday, if anyone is interested!

Also, please visit the thread posted in my signature for details of how to sponsor me. Even £1 is appreciated and makes a difference.

Good luck tomorrow, hope you break the record, if you do I'll donate £250.00 to you.

Ive sponsored ACS for something and I'm going to add something extra for each mile he covers, but I'll add a few pounds to your account too.

I'm in quite a bit of pain but tomorrow is the worse day. having said all that I've retracted my Steve Redgrave comment from yesterday (not getting back on the GNR track) and will indeed be running next year (I have a guaranteed place deal as I paid an additional fee).
There's unfinished business with the clock... plus a banana beat me to the finishing line too so can't be having that can we. :):)

My knees were shot to bits last time I did it, I took my husbands place in the race at the last minute, I only had three weeks notice, it put me off doing it again, but I quite fancy having a go at the Manchester one.
Not sure how hard it would be to get a number though!
