i would...but i was there ;)...i've been there for both, and weirdly, so has Miss Hornette, and she goes to watch watford so rarely it's a huge coincidence..i'm going to have to drag her to matches more often! lol

I feel for Mapps..i'm sure he thought he'd not be staying on the bench...otherwise, just sitting on the bench in the prem i'm sure wouldn't have appealed. We do seem to be able to sell benchwarmers to the prem though...hey ho...

A bright start to the day with my morning stabbing completed. Mme Lebon is complaining about the quality of the needles that are provided these days, stating that they have been blunt since Chinese imports have been used. I have noticed that some go in with ease and others require a second attempt. One week today this initial plaster comes off and we will see what they say at the hospital about how long I will need a second one for.

I was having a chat to someone yesterday who told me that her husband ruptured both his Achilles tendons at the same time by diving into a swimming pool. No idea how bad that might have been, because with the aid of crutches I can at least hop to a seat beside a bar. Someone else was telling me that some research is suggesting that antibiotics can weaken these tendons. No idea if that is possible, but I have not had any so it cannot have contributed in my case.

Enough medical discussion for this morning. I see that Lloyd admits that his goal on Saturday was purely a cross, but thinks that playing further forward will create a torrent of scores. ;) Listening to the post match comments, it was said that we played 4-4-2 second half and looked good. Is this the natural way that most teams like to play and find it easier?

Thanks for the coffee ak. Hope you are not feeling lonely.:emoticon-0100-smile

No. I am watching the fjäll to make sure no one takes the bottom half. The clouds are low so the top is not visible. We have 4C wind and rain so today is not good.

KA lost to Víkungur Ólafsvík by 0:4 yesterday so Þór and Víkungur go to the top league. In the match the teams were 0:0 at 75 minutes and then one goal turned to a flood. We had 395 people attending and I read somewhere there were 100 visitors from Ólafsvík, that town has a population of 1000 so I think the village was looking empty. Next week KA are visiting Bolungarvík which is 570km away becase of the fjords, if a straight line is about 240km, and is smaller than Ólafsvík.

Morning all and thanks for the frothy AK - fairly pleasant day in West West London.

H - are you going to Huddersfield away? We are making the trip, although Little Miss W_Y cannot make it as she has to attend a "Baby Shower" and she is less than happy! <yikes> - that is one American import along with Trick or Treat that should never have been allowed to get past customs!

Do you have Prom? That is a horrible event the Americans are to be criticised for.

Do those in our Luxembourg office have no concept of a time difference? That's Friday and today they've tried calling me when I've been at lunch. Luckily, on both occasions I've been out of the office.

It was a weekend for me that seemed to be dominated by homework issues. It seems that pie wasn't fully taught simultaneous equations during his GCSE, so he was stumped with his first maths homework by one of the questions. I did it in a separate room then showed him what I'd done which he didn't recognise at all. Looks like his old school just worried about the kids passing their GCSEs. If they were a school that did A-levels, I'm sure they would've done some work that would help them with those more.
His younger brother, however, just doesn't see the point in homework and refuses to do it. It didn't help that I returned him to his Mum yesterday without him having done any over the weekend (he comes straight to my place after school on a Friday now) but I don't think that either of the bags he had with him was his school bag, so he might have left his books in his locker at school. If I'm right, then he wouldn't have been able to do any homework when he was with me. It's going to be even harder to get him to do any this weekend as my Mum is over.

<applause> to Steve Harper of Newcastle. These days when a lot of players roll around to get someone else booked or sent-off, he said to the ref that someone who challenged him (I think it was Victor Anichebe) was making a genuine attempt for the ball and that it was Harper's momentum as much as anything else that caused him to go down. Also credit to the ref for taking notice.

Evening all. That was a good day, I saw watford train and got a few more autographs. Then tonight I played football and only let in one goal (a penalty) in game one which I was happy with. Im looking forward to the game tomorrow, I have some insider info which I am sworn to secrecy over, but i think some will be happy.
