I think he was backing up his team-mate as club captain, re-Terry incident.

This whole thing should have been sorted by Terry. He is supposed to be England (well he was) and Chelsea Captain, with a fairly glorious career behind him, he should have apologized as profusely as possible for even appearing to make those comments. Whatever he has said is unnecessary and an apology is warranted. Anton, for his part, should then have apologized back for agitating him. There's no need to wind people up on the pitch, and it should be a yellow card offence or at least noted down in the referee report for possible further action.

The handshake is a part of the game I respect massively, and while I know others want it scrapped, professionalism is not necessarily as much of an end of sportsmanship as the attitudes some have. "Well it all evens out" and the ilk is to consent to cheating, and we've (as fans) let players put 3 points and money ahead of respect for the game, as well as pundits and directors. That's my inclination towards honesty my dad instilled, and it's very hard to stick to it when Ben Arfa has jumped over Rio and got a pen at Old Trafford... Overall I would like to see the players admit to things, but I know there's no real reward, so it's hard to even champion it's theoretical proposition.

We'll just save the respect for kickabouts with jumpers, then <ok>

Terry and Lump of Lard are best mates. Why no mention of Lump of Lard?

Please let's not even contemplate going there, life really is far too short for a project of that magnitude!

It would take a long, long, long time.

Park played with Rio for 7 years so I believe he was giving back up to Anton. What I found disgusting were the mascot being pushed away from Terry and the Ashley Cole turning away and spitting on the ground as Ferdinand passed. That really is disrespect and I think he just proved what a ****er he is.

I didn't realise that the ref had also chose to stand beside Terry during the ritual, just in case of any bother.

I can't remember the name of the retired ref that is always on Sky Sports News on a Monday, he usually discusses any controversies that have occurred over the weekend, he explains why certain decisions are made. It was he who pointed out where the ref for the game had stood, and he gave the impression players could not be forced to shake hands.
