.......will 38pts from 38 draws be enough to keep us up?!! Seriously though that's a good draw today against the champions. Haven't seen the game so I look forward to comments for those who were there. No Pennant today and he wasn't injured. No WP so he is perhaps now surplus to requirements. Will TP ever play 2 wingers at once?
To be fair it sounded like we were positive and had some good spells in the game. Listening to it on the Radio, it seemed that we changed formation (defensive) after scoring which is frustrating because we were well on top at that point! Didnt like the subs (Kightly sounded excellent and was ist sub) and it is worrying that we have 3 excellent wingers and only 1 plays and another doesn't even make the squad! I suppose it was expected that Owen wouldnt play (dont want to top up is pay yet!!!) but the cameo on 90 minutes was pretty pointless! I dont think you can argue that a point was a good result, but I dont think we can expect any positive tactical changes any time soon. That leaves us with 1 win in the last 14 or 15 I think and only 4 wins in the last 25 with some diffiuclt fixtures still to come.
If Owen is on a pay as you play contract, how much does he get if he comes on as a sub.... and in the 90th minute to boot?
P Potter I was coming home from Bournemouth.. picked up Radio Stoke as I was leaving M6 and Crouch Scores! To be honest, I can't remember the last time I missed a home game so listening on the radio was just too much.. did'nt tune in again until full time. Must say, a txt from my mates say's.. Cracking game/atmosphere and we gave as good as we got. Won't comment any further until I've seen the game on MOTD later. Four pts from four games? DON'T panic as my mates tell me we also played some GREAT FOOTBALL. Pleased with a pt vs the current champions. YES I am keep it going we will have much easier games than playing Man City every week. KTF Pott's
Pleased with a point but happier to here we played some football as I missed the match completely, so i'm looking forward to match of the day.
match of the day didnt do us justice. We played well and looked dangerous. If we play like that every week you wont get any complaints from me. UTPssss
Ricc, we had one of the tail end charlie slots on match of the day, but as you have condemmed the team in the past for underperforming I am more than happy to take your word for it that it was a good game. Just wish TP had sorted the midfield out 2nd or 3rd season as was needed.
Everyone I have spoke to said we played well, so as you say Ric cant complain and the point is a good result! Re Midfield - just wish we would play with 2 wingers and I really think Jerome should get a run in the team until Owen is fit enough to play 75 mins.
Ric We played well, that is exactly what i heard Not sure what MOTD were doing as it seemed that apart from Crouch's goal we created zero chances? Would rather take the word of mates and of course yourself Ric... you WERE there, that's good enough for me. As I said KTF that is a great pt and I'm pleased so far this season.
Wasn't too fussed about only the 1 winger, although I was a bit concerned Pennant wasn't even on the bench, hope there's not any more trouble brewing there, but back to my point, we played 4-5-1, Kightly left, Adam, N'Zonzi in the middle and Walters and Whelan both shifitng between right and CM, I think with 2 wingers we would have been too open in the middle, and that's not something you want when you're up against Yaya Toure. I just hope only playing one winger doesn't become the norm again, wouldn't be suprised to see the same set up for Chelsea, but we should have a real go at Swansea and Liverpool!
Valid point - although it always amazes me that Walters can play anywhere regardless of the position.
