You mean like the Liverpool fans that chanted "Munich" at one of the Spirit of Shankly end of season parties?

Every club has it's idiots, trying to make out that it's just a United thing is exactly what I'd expect from you though.

Yeah I know that happened, and it was sick. I would imagine that this happens a lot more than we hear about, unfortunately for the SOS they were caught doing it! If United fans don't feel it is out of order to sing this at a match which has nothing to do with Liverpool, then I would guess that similar songs get sung by them at parties and get-togethers, just like the SOS were doing.

Anyway, I was referring to the singing every week at the match, I mean, why do they do it? Do you know? It must be embarrassing for other United fans when Liverpool songs are sung at a game against Wigan, or Norwich, or Man City...does it embarrass you?

And I wasn't saying it's just United who have idiots, Liverpool's fans are no angels, but Liverpool's fans do not sing about United when they are playing Sunderland for example...it is only United fans who do this and therefore I think that is the reason it will never stop, because United fans do not want it to stop and today was a perfect example of that being the case. Your manager publicly called for it to stop, the news this week could not have been more clear about who was to blame and yet United fans still sang their song.

    Stay classy United! <ok>

United don't do it every week, and those that chant such **** are the people that the real fans would like to see banned from ever entering any football stadium again. I do find it amazing that you think that only United do this kind of stuff and that Liverpool would never lower themselves to do anything similar, you do realize that the Munich 58 banners used to pop up at Liverpool games everywhere don't you? Claiming it's only United fans and that we don't want it to stop is pathetic, even for you.

It is difficult to not generalise at times because I don't specifically know who these people are. You know I am generalising anyway, you should understand that having been on this forum for a while that people have to generalise at times.

I imagine you generalise when you refer to other fans as Liverpool, Leeds, City or whatever...it's no big deal and basically you are being pedantic.

If I have upset you by generalising then I apologise, but you really should not be too bothered if I say stuff like 'Why do United fans sing about Liverpool.....". I am not referring to you personally, I am referring to the fans that sing the songs, you know this, yet you are for some reason acting dumb. Do you really think that when I referred to United fans in my earlier post I was referring to you, or Ruffian, or Alan? Unless you or them were actually singing the songs then don't get too upset by me using what is basically an easy and more expedient way of writing! <ok>

Personally i think you get some sort of joy out of accusing Machester United fans to be more horrible than any others. Don't think i have ever tried to generalise Liverpool fans in that way.

I think that this is the important part of what you are saying! I am talking about recent times as that is what relevant at the moment, not what happened 20 years ago or whenever!

I have never heard that Liverpool fans sing about United these days, but I know that United do it about Liverpool, so do you. And if it is not every game then it is pretty close to it, and that comes from United fans!

And yes I do think that those who sing the songs want it to stop! If they did then surely they would just stop singing the songs, pretty easy really...but yet they don't, which leaves me with no option but to think that they enjoy it and want to continue with it! Wouldn't you agree? <ok>

We all know he's nothing more than an anti-United WUM, but it's not a subject that should be used for petty point scoring if you ask me so I had to reply.

It's not joy that I get, I posted on this thread basically because someone denied that the singing took place today and said it was 'typical' Liverpool fans and their 'lies lies lies' I just put him straight, that's all!

And I am not saying that United fans are worse than others, I am saying that the United fans that sing the songs, sing them more often and do it when it has no relevance, which I find bizarre!

It's not point scoring at all, it is discussing the issue at hand. The topic will obviously formulate opinions, some will have a pro-United stance and others will not, that's no problem, that is the point of this forum basically!

If you think that it is just point scoring then you are either missing the point or just trying to dismiss my comments because you don't like what you see!

Well how often is it then? You seem to have the answers so why not tell us all?

I have a mate who goes to OT about 10 times a season, she says the songs are sung all the time, that's my source and she has no reason to lie as it makes her club look bad!

So, if you know different then spill the beans...

Do they? How could you possibly know that without taking note of who was singing what and when?

We are rivals singing negatively about your rival is always going to happen which is ok aslong as its banter. Atmosphere ect makes games really worth going to, its a massive shame that we have fans who for some reason think its "big" or "cool" or whatever to sing horrible things about a past tragedy to get one up on a rival.

Anyway i need to hit the deck, i understand were you're coming from on this subect but most United fans are decent, just like most Liverpool fans.

I'm dismissing your comments because they are factually incorrect, claiming these chants happen at "pretty close" to every game is a joke.
