BTW the Telegraph have done this to aid the tension.

With each action by a minority and each bit of press coverage any chance of a 'peaceful' but passionate atmosphere diminishes.

Manchester Utd supporters on social media are in denial.

"United supporters took to social media on Saturday night to claim that “you’re always the victims, it’s never your fault”, referred only to the much-publicised race row between Liverpool’s Luis Suárez and Patrice Evra last season."

The 'song' mentioned in the piece was in existence well before the Suarez/Evra case.

Those that sang it should be condemned not have excuses made for them.

It will never end. There will be Munich chants next weekend, the Liveepool fans will claim they were in retaliation to the chants today, the United fans will claim they were in retaliation to the chants in the 80's and it will ultimately go back to the ****ing spinning Jenny. It's so ****ing tedious.

It CAN end but only if the majority of fans police the idiots.

The club isn't the problem. Far from it - yet more evidence has come out in all of this that apart from everton Utd were the club that offered and gave Liverpool most help and support in the aftermath of Hillsborough. The problem is your morons and our morons (and UIR, I WILL condemn our gobsh!tes as and when they kick off) just don't get it. I despair they ever will.

Cant really argue with that, but you and the other Utd fans that castigate SKD and accuse him of being KPR/making sick Munich comments etc and are calling for him to be banned are slow in asking the same fate for COMAS who hasn't exactly covered himself in glory.

I fail to understand the mentality of anyone who is more focussed on hating someone else than supporting their own.
This has nothing to do with rivalry imo, and quite frankly I have no idea what's going on in their heads.

Unfortunately this has become more and more common although not surprising. People who choose to follow a team purely because they are winning trophies aren't really football fans, they are just looking for bragging rights, a reason to feel superior to other people. Take away the trophies and they become bitter and hateful. If Liverpool ever get back to winning ways then some of their fans might actually go back to looking for their results before United's.

no need for this type of thing full stop whoever you support, you resort to this type of thing you are the lowest of the low.

agree that each clubs fans should at least try and oust the scum who do this, but just an idea,

Do any of you think a statement from the FA or FIFA would carry any weight with clubs being punished for this despicable behavior? then hopefully it will be the last we hear of Hillsborough or Munich chants or any other ones that are just to cause offence or tension between sets of fans.

supposed to be a family game!!

what worries me is we think we have a problem with racism and yet things like this are not made a big enough issue of in my opinion.

its disgusting and no need for whether you support utd or Liverpool or any other team, you resort to this type of behaviour and you are scum of the lowest order.

about time this fooking stupidty stopped.

It needs Zero tolerance if any Liverpool Fans [not sure fans is the correct word] start singing about Munich we need to police them ourselves, report them to the stewards. Video them on our Mobiles and post it to YouTube. And the club should ban them for LIFE!
It is easy to get on our high horse, but we all know deep down we have a minority of fans [?] at our club that are just as bad.

  19. I agree this needs a zero tolerance level. Not sure which club they were talking about (it may have been Man Utd) but on Five Live yesterday they was saying that a club has a anonymous phone number for people to complain about individuals. I think this can work so long as people can get over the 'thy shall not grass' attitude. all people would need to do is note that persons seat number. Of course, this only works if it is a regular visitor to the stadium and/or they have bought the ticket for themselves (ie, not got it via a friend who is a member) <ok>

The only suggestion for me would be to have undercover officers in the stands. When they see something they could send the seat number via a text to the uniformed officers. It wouldn't take long for people to shut up!

Edit: There needs to be a clear guideline though. The police like to take things too far and would clamp down on chants about just about anything.

The Glazers would never sanction undercover officers in the stands. That's wasted match day revenue!
