I'll be back now proper football is back Dona <ok>

good..so long as we can still respect one another..you can throw it all at me....i cant wait for things to go pear shaped for your team <ok>

ill bid you a good night DL and ill see you around stirring the pot on most threads no doubt.

zooot time!!

I didn't read DL's post as he's on ignore, but I gather he talks about us as just 'a cup team'

I've already explained THAT IN THE LEAGUE WE HAMMERED CITY 26-5 btween 1980-2010

I hope this helps ;)

THAT'S 26-5 BTW, TO US in case anyone isn't sure <cheers>

That must be a hell of a trophy cabinet, well done! the next time I'm at the Etihad I'll ask where our 5, we finished higher than Spurs cups are, I suspect they may be hidden behind The Premier League Championship Trophy, it's quite big, you must have seen it on tv!

Your accounts appear to be rather distorted by deals that should fall foul of the FFP regulations, though.
I'm not saying that they will, as I'm sure your accountants will work out some way around it, but your spending is completely unsustainable at the moment.

What deals facts please! and please explain how our spend in the last 2 transfer windows is unsustainable.

Cheers, glad you realise at last you weren't on a similar level to us before you got your free gifts, that in fact you were way below us <cheers>

It took a while, but we got there <ok>

Because we don't owe any money to anybody, all the teams on the list do!

Marbella is right. That list is for people who haven't given enough detail on their dealings. Not necessarily the same list as people that will fall foul of the FFP regulations.

I feel humbled, all those years standing on the terraces hoping for us to win the league, the FA cup or the League cup when all the time there was a secret competition going on that very few people knew about, in fact only one! "The Finish Higher than Spurs Cup" I feel totally devastated at being cheated out of 5 major pissups along with 5 open top bus parades through the streets of the City, I'm calling for an independent inquiry as to how this could have happened and I'm hoping that you Ghoddle10 will be the leading whitless for the prosecution, Disgusted Blue!

I'll start with your deal with Etihad Airways, a company that has only operated at a loss, established by the Royal family of the UAE and chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The fact that he shares the surname of Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, head of the Abu Dhabi United Group who own Man City, is not a coincidence.
Others include Etisalat, also known as the Emirates Telecommunication Corporation and owned by the UAE government, The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Aabar Investments, owned by the Abu Dhabi government.

Your last two seasons have seen a net loss of about £80m in transfer fees alone and your wage bill outstrips your revenue.
I'd say that's unsustainable spending without your benefactors and dubious sponsorships, wouldn't you?

I think he was referring to the stadium sponsorship.

Anyway, your wages eclipse your revenue meaning you should have to sell players to be sustainable but instead you continued spending. I really don't care too much but lets not pretend you're sustainable becuase your spending didn't reach 9 figures in two transfer windows.

Edit: Should've read the other comments first :D

Exactly YV. it's this arrogant refusal to acknowledge that, firstly they are only where they are because of the massive amount of funds poured into their club by an Arab oil state. Or that their blatantly Incestuous sponsorship deals are still being allowed. In the season before last, their wage bill was larger than their entire turnover! Even now their spending is way more than revenue generated. Once again, they will only ever fall within current FFP rules by way of some very "creative" accounting!..

I'm still in favourof a squad salary cap. However, an additional way to level the playing field would be to split the Sky money based on profit/loss rather than split it evenly. Furthermore, teams who spent stupidly could be fined with the money collected from fines split between teams who make a profit.

I don't know how much each team gets from the Sky money but for argument sake i'll say £50 M/year/team.

In the event that 8 teams make a profit, 8 teams make a small loss, say -£4M for the year, two teams lose £50M, one team loses £80M and the last team loses £180M.

The teams that lost -£4 would receive only £46M instead of £50M (50-4) with the 8*4M = 32M going into the pot for the teams that made a profit.

The 2 teams that lost £50M each would receive nothing (50-50) with the 2*50M going into the pot for the teams that made a profit.

The team that lost -£80M would also receive nothing but be fined £30M (50-80=-30) so there would be a further £80M going into the pot for the teams that made a profit.

The team that lost -£180M would also receive nothing but be fined £130M (50-180) so there would be another £180M for the pot.

Using the example above teams that made a profit would receive £50M+(8*£4M+2*£50M+£80M+£180M)/8=£99M

Teams that are fined would be banned from signing players until either the fine is paid in full or players are sold to balance the books. Teams who made a profit would quickly benifit. Short term 'buying the title' would have serious long term ramifications.

Whilst I agree with deedub's proposal, there is one question I have - how far should this go?

After all, several teams have bought their way into the Premier League over the years (QPR, Fulham and West Ham certainly fall foul of FFP in this regards), and similar happens in other leagues around Europe , so should UEFA also look at the books of teams promoted to the top flight?

Outside the top division, though, the FA/Football League need to look at soem clubs - plenty of teams have bought their way up the league in years gone past (such as Wigan, Fulham, and Crawley) but UEFA aren't interested as these clubs are in the third, fourth or fifth tier for the majority of their promotions.

No problem, glad to have been of service. It's just a shame that you got your free stadium and your oil money or else we'd be dominating you still.

But anyway as long as you realise you weren't anywhere near our level before you got your lottery wins, and we were the completely dominant force - 26-5 and 6-0, then my testimony has not been in vain <ok>

God loves a trier, I bet you have some stats tucked away that show you once were a bigger club than Chelsea and Arsenal, it might only have been for 48 hours in 19?? but I bet you have all the details in your little book, now off you go back to mid table dreaming about your new stadium and playing with the big boys!!!!
