Green has earned a chance on the right but Waggy on the left? I don't think so. There's no obvious replacement but now that we are allowed 7 subs surely there can be a place for Harriott on the bench. After all it's about a year and a half since he made quite a decent debut.
the reserves that played wouldnt have got a game last year. for him to score was nothing to do with being carried by a team from a league above. but if that dont add value to the point... last night was shocking. trying something else has got to be better
We were let down badly last night and we are bashing saggy who wasnt involved in sure he'd be no worse than the 11 in red last night. Wagstaff was as good if not better than green for much of last season but on last nights showing green needs to start at derby we have no reason to stick to the same side that has been poor in our last two games
After last night & the previous match at Forest, unless CP changes things, this will be a very long & painful season. As people who know me will confirm I am no tactical expert. However it was clear, even to me we needed width & more of a spark. I have always been a fan of Waggy & although I have questions over his ability to cut it in this league, there is no doubt he will run his heart out for us. That makes up for a possible short fall in natural ability. Him and/or Green can give us the punch that Pritchard lacks (we don't want his potential destroyed by an appalling run) & the speed that JJ doesn't have. After the last two performances, why not ? it can't get much worse.
Personal opinion I would say Solly was fantastic. He took Zaha out of the game. Wiggins wasn't really touching him. I think on the performance it should have been a draw. Was a good game. Worrying yes, but when we had the ball think compared to last season building up the play worked well. Albeit the finish and result was not there. Thought Hamer did well too. Held the ball well on many occasions. Wilson, well, appreciate it was an unexpected substituion early on but he just didnt do it for me. Kermo seemed pretty irrelevant which is unlike him, but as has been said, the service was missing. BWP was ever present when he could. And Fuller I think looked good, almost this season's Euell. CP used Euell early on in the season to go on and direct people with his experience etc. Let's be a tad patient. Palace were bottom and with one win go mid table, it is early days. By no means am I panicking, yet. The refereeing was awful. Very light cards for us and very lenient with them. He was so biased even CAFC thought he was one of theirs, hence the sliding tackle on him ;-) Need to locate that BWP goal though, need to find out if it was offside! Not that it matters!
A few thoughts now I've calmed down a bit (I'm normally very quiet at games, but last night for the first time ever I yelled out an expletive at the ref). Pritchard is not a right winger, and in any case is too lightweight for this league. Jackson did nothing, and he cannot be considered undroppable. Kermorgant had by far his worst game for us - Palace didn't let him win anything in the air, and his link-up play on the floor didn't come off at all. Wilson looked a little unsure defensively, but getting forward did ok. Green looked very bright when he came on, he should come in for Pritchard next time out. Stephens was our best player, kept us ticking over nicely. Ditto Fuller, though that shot late on was stupid, given that Green was in acres of space out wide. All in all, there are serious grounds for concern. Palace, Zaha aside, are not a good team, and we could not break them down. The defence is fine, and now we have Fuller I'm not that worried about our attack, but the midfield just doesn't work. They are good individual players but aren't strong enough (in every game this season I've noticed how much bigger the opposition players are). In addition, we rely on the long ball to Kermorgant far too often, when we have players like Stephens who have the quality to play the ball on the floor towards the strikers. We need to learn quickly from this, otherwise we're in for a relegation fight.
Sorry Kish having had a nightmare journey down from Yorkshire last night to watch the game (arrived 30 after kick off) I can only realy comment on the second half. However, it was clear that we were far to narrow until Green came on and it might just be that Wagstaff could work onn the left with Green on the right. Both have pace and whilst we have a limited work ethic in Green and the odd sulk from Wagstaff they would both have given us better options last night if they had started. Hard to express feelings about the rest of the match and the lino who gave BWP offside, but the feeling on waking this morning was ..Ouch that hurt. ps didn't appreciate the idiots in black with the thunderflashes last night. Presume these were the Ultra Nigels or as they should henceforth be known, the Nigellas
According to the official site the lino apologised to CP after the match for the error. However, this is not the first time this season that BWP has been ruled offside when clearly on and it may be something the referee should take a little more time over. The lino should know that in alocal derby apologies by officials mhave a little bit of a hollow ring to them.
The palace ultras that is very funny ain't it.... It don't go together at all,the flair things a joke
Oh dear you guys can't take defeat well can you. Zaha ripped u to shreads. Only the last 15 mind you got your act together, the game should've been over by then. Ps our fans completely outsung you clowns from start to finish!
yes Zaha was good we know this but you'll probably find Zaha last night played his way out of Palace come January he won't be there for the return fixture no-one stays at Palace what's there to stay for.
Championship football, but I agree he won't be with us next year. Still enough time to rip your full backs apart again. (by the way he's on a new 5year deal so the fee would have to be a HUGE)
