Well he's had our only two shots - Gerrard's anonymous, Allen is fixing up the cracks, Suarez is dejectedly playing, Sterling is bright but theres NO ONE IN THE BOX. Two seasons in a row, our problem has been that NO ONE runs into the box when we have an attack. How's Sterling going to beat 5 Sunderland players? Get the **** in the box or get off the pitch. Every single one of our midfielders tries to play a Lucas role, instead of running forward. Start running, you're on 50k a week so put some effort into it.
Get this Assaidi bloke on. This is so frustrating. One decent passage of play from Sunderland and we were completely undone. Sunderland have been so average but we can't fashion any real chances. There's no confidence or belief. EDIT: They've had one ****ing shot to our seven, really sums us up. Nothing has changed.
Rafas last season wasn't good... but fair to say we've never really recovered losing Rafa. Roy really tore the heart out the club and we've never really recovered... hopefully Rodgers lives up to his big talking.
I can't believe that we don't even have a good defence to rely on anymore. ****e in attack, ****e in defence and tbh ****e in midfield. No one doing their ****ing job
Funny old half of football, Liverpool the better team for large portions of the game but we have the goal and with a better final ball could have caused more problems. Hope we can pick the passing and movement up in second half or its going to be very tense
Well he seems to have at least the idea to shoot at the net rather than dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble,... fall over that our current world class striker appears to think will work...
some canges needed. Shelvey and borini off, Assaidi and Sahin on. Push Gerrard forward slightly. ----Sahin---Allen---- --------Gerrard Assaidi---Suarez-sterlng
got to agree on Catts once again doing his job well. Having watched the goal back, I have to say that was a very good goal by Fletcher. Made the effort to get in front of the defender and took it well. One chance one goal. Previous match two chances two goals. Some record to sustain going on here. BRB need to turn down the volume before that plank Burley starts spouting his drivel.
Shelvey adds nothing to what Gerrard and Allen are already doing. Either use Gerrard or use Shelvey, but not both. Perhaps take Shelvey off, move Suarez more central but behind the front three and play Assaidi on the wing? Played well until the goal but yet again, a mistake is punished. Every time. Would prefer to see Sterling and Suarez swap sides though. Not all doom and gloom, but it's definitely another kick in the teeth.
Straight from the Liverpool sctiptbook this season. We start strong but tamely tap our chances. The other team gets a break and we collapse. We don't take our chances and we don't fight back when we stumble... no bite... no bark.
better team is debatable. We have had the most possession, but that's usually the case. Our defence and goal scoring is a mess
2 terrible teams, playing terrible football. 1 got lucky with a poor tackle that rebounded the right way. Apart frmo that, don't think anyone would be complaining in this game was still 0-0. If we up our game, it's there for the taking, we just need to speed up the passing. Everything is too slow, and I don't want to blame Gerrard, but he does like time on the ball and to try spread the play when we really need slick, short passing.
Aye, right enough over 4 games Suarez & Gerrard look like the players to change the game....Shelvey is at least trying: Gerrard appears to be painting his nails.
reakon catts and colbeck have bossed the game so far gerrard is running scared! looking very good for us, and the ref has had a good game so far.. ha'way the lads
Thing is, we get into so many promising positions but our players almost always make the wrong decisions in those areas. This has been a problem for over an year now, how have we gone through two transfer windows without even attempting to sort it out? I really hope not but I get the feeling that a 15-20 goal a season striker is going to be as elusive as a good winger has been for us since McManaman left.
I agree. I'm not a fan of borini but he is the only one really taking his shots with conviction. No one else seems to care. First time this season I've said or thought this but... taking borini off would be a mistake. If we score today it will be him.
