Because Totesport only signed a 2-year-deal with Hull and with the two years bieng up. Does anyone know what our sponsor will be, and that means do you know anything about it and not just want it i.e. Tiger Beer <ok>

I heard a few rumours flying around.

    1. KC - We had them before on the away kit, they have the stadium sponsorship deal but I'm not sure what they will get out of it outside of Hull (is it just a local provider?)

    2. Tiger Beer - Apparently there were a few "investors" from said company sniffing around before Totesport beat them too it; a fitting sponsor but I honestly can't see it happening.

    3. Allam Marine - Scunthorpe had a steelworks (Rainham?) on the front of theirs, so I can't imagine it being to hard to see our owner's own company on the shirt next season.

    4. Smith and Nephew - Can't see it, but heavily involved in stand sponsoring so could happen, plus a nationally known firm.

    5. Comet - Electrical company based in Hull, nationally known, very popular, would be a pretty big sponsorship deal.

    6. ARCO - No way. Don't know much about the company except that they make building gear.

Like I said, just rumours, but the bigger the company, the more investment we will incur.

I've spoken to directors and major sponsors and none of them have any idea who the new sponsors are, I wouldn't be surprised if it said Allam on our shirts next season, it's the only one on the list above that I would consider a possibilty.

The only problem with that is it Would mean I assume there'd be no additional revenue by having our owners company as shirt sponsor, some kudos too it. But as it's a real saleable advertising space I thought it would be better letting it go to a 3rd party?

If it was to say Allam on the shirts, then I'd expect Allame Marine to pay the going rate.

As a valid business cost, I would have thought they would be able to off-set advertising (i.e., sponsorship) against their business taxes?

You would know that area better than me, OLM!

They will have an advertising budget, they might as well spend it on their own football club, particularly with a longer tern view of getting back into the worlds most watched football league.

Wouldnt they be better off having the back of the shirt or shorts and leaving the main sponsor for another company?

Can you imagine Neil Hudgell Law increasing their sponsorship in us and having them on our shirts?

My work's offices are next door to Neil Hudgell in Leeds, not sure why that is relevant to this, but I felt it needed putting out there.

considering the money is entirely Allams anyway as he payed off a ridiculous sum I don't think we could begrudge him putting allam on the shirt and there really is no need to move some money from one bank account to another to justify it I am sure it will have no difference on his budget next year.

Tax savings yes, I still think it is better value to have 3rd party shirt sponsor rather than our owners. Hell, they've given us plenty. Just because they have an advertising budget, doesn't mean they have to spend it!!!!

I think Comet are a pretty big contender as they were formed and still based in Hull

OLM should sponsor us with his vast millions.

My mum actually works in the Comet offices in Hull. She would know if they where about to sign a deal with City. I'm sure thats a no-go.

Why would they tell the cleaner about their sponsorship dealings?

Even if my mother was a cleaner I wouldn't take any offence to what TWF says.

It's common knowledge that he speaks nonsense 99% of the time and that he's a closet Sheff Utd fan.

Well I do feel sorry for your mother! She should sue the maternity home for keeping the after-birth.
