He's been doing his coaching badges, so hopefully we will keep him on instead of letting him go to some other club.

I say keep him till he's ready to retire, then keep him on in coaching.
He's excellent, there's no doubting that, and I don't wanna ever see him go. He's one of my favourite players at this club, always has been, and always will be
He deserves to be number 1 for at least another season, and not because of his loyalty, but because of his performances.

And for what it's worth, I'd rather have Krul as his replacement than Forster. :)

Loan out Forster to a prem team.

Next season have Harper first choice Krul second choice.
Season after that have Forster/Krul (whoever has proved themselves better) first choice and Harper as back up.

This - Krul still needs time to learn the pressure that comes with being a number goalie at a prem team. He can learn off of Harps for a few seasons and get some games in cup matches and a few run outs in the season. Hes got everything needed to be our number 1 for the foreseeable future, however he just needs to be patient right now, which is a trait not many footballers have (maybe harps can teach him about that as well).

As for Forster, will be probably be loaned out for another couple of seasons. I can see him wanting to go though if hes not given a chance soon, as hes tasted being number one at a club like Celtic and will want to kick off his career.

  7. Well i'm glad we agree. What i really want is for Krul to stay. When i asked if we should sell Harper, it was only a question.

We should NOT loan out Krul because he's so close to being number 1 in the team. Forster should go out on loan.

to be honest i think it's more likely Forster will be sold than loaned out again. I'd much rather keep Krul, but I suppose that's just bias due to Krul being a more regular NUFC player, so I dunno..

I feel for Forster too. A local lad, lifelong supporter, done about as well as possible at both Norwich and Celtic. If Harper doesn't go down injured for half the season, everyone argues in favour of him saying that he's played week-in, week-out for 2 seasons, wherein Krul has ridden the bench all season with no experience of any kind. Sell Forster and I'm afraid of another north-east kid coming good for another club.

Harper is still our number one keeper for me, although Krul is now running him very close. Harper's loyalty should be rewarded by letting him end his career with us and then being offered a coaching role. Hopefully Krul will push on and take the number one spot over the next season or so and Harps can finish as backup.

I have seen Forster play a few times now this season (on tv) and added to my previous viewings I am now concluding that he is not as good as Krul, so should be kept as third choice, loaned out or sold as decided by the staff.
