http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19593030 after he got injured, he was out for nearly the whole season and just came back ready in the last 2 matches of the season, did he expect Sir Alex to play him while he was injured? But Owen will always be respected by us united fans. His goal vs City will never be forgotten. Hope he has a great time at Stoke
Regardless of what any fan thinks of him, in Owens short career he has managed to leave a permanent memory for us all with that goal
He regrets not leaving Utd earlier. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19593030 Rivalry aside, Manchester United and SAF were very good to him and gave him another chance and also a chance to play CL football, yet here he is again showing his unappreciative and ungrateful nature and showing he has no loyalty to any club.
Hes not(and i'm not)saying he was wrong to leave Eric, he is saying he should have taken no notice to the man who put him back in the limelight and left a season before he did leave. There's no doubt he could have been at a club that would have played him in every game possible last season, but surely out of respect to SAF he should have kept his silence about his final season at Utd. Anyway stop being argumentative or i'll get Benny Boy onto you.
He's also claiming Liverpool wanted him back. That has been slammed back in his face, Liverpool have come out and said, they wanted nothing of the sort.
Just read the article and there is nothing he is saying bad. That goal he scored against City will be remembered for a long long time.
Liverpool could be lying and most probably are considering Rodgers said you wouldnt allow Carroll to leave before you got someone in. A lie
So funny Mancs defending a player that spent most of him time at Liverpool.. watch me defend Ince Owen got his just deserts when Liverpool won the CL the following year after he left the club, talk about a sickener after just leaving to win trophies, he left just before he could have won the biggest trophy. So the slate was clear for me, good look to him at stoke.
I am so glad Owen has joined Stoke. If he had joined Lfc they may have had a goal threat when we played them.
If its true he never said what i accused him of i hold my hands up, but the quotes were on the BBC from an interview he did for them, it looks like damage limitation.
Owen says that he should of left united after the 10-11 season but Sir Alex said that he has a big role to play and he signed one year extension, then in his final year he got injured at November and was out nearly the whole season, only came back fit in the last game against Sunderland when he was on the bench.it wasn't united's fault he got injured again because im sure if he had stayed fit he would of got many more playing time
I have never liked Owen. He spent most of his time at the scousers and he did ok for us when he played. He betrayed the scousers who idolised him. Haha that was great fun to throw back to the scousers fans faces their worship and idolisation of him was simply hilarious. He maybe a traitor to the scousers but to me he has always remained a scousers one
