That is the oversight that NA made against Man utd..... where is the CM work horse/runner on the bench. I think agaisnt the top temas that keep the ball in the manner Arsenal will saturday, we will need a runner or chaser on the bench. 4 attacking players is too many on the bench for this fixture. If Cork isn't fit, then it needs to be Chappers.
Just realised that the Arsenal are in the Champions League away to Montpellier on Tuesday night.... could we hope for a couple to be rested?
No sign of Lee in gallery on OS. Shots of Yoshida and Mayuka, but no sign of Ramirez. Lots of other players not present either, so can't read too much into that. Have a feeling he may be on the bench if he passes his MOT as Adkins calls it.
Just seen this stat. According to Opta, Southampton have allowed their opponents more shots on target against them than any other team in the Premier League (19). Can't afford that tomorrow!
Why not? They've scored twice in three games, both the Manchester sides are notably better attacking threats.
It's certainly not an issue particularly desperate for Arsenal - something we have to work on for the whole season obviously, but from what I've seen Arsenal seem particularly profligate.
Heard Lee had arm in plaster, but someone else said (on Saints Forum) that it seems to be in a splint, so perhaps less serious. Players have played before with light casts, but would depend how desperate NA was.
The big test tomorrow could be that we will possibly have less of the ball than in any of the three previous games.
it would be amazing to win but i just can see it happening. a clean sheet and a nil nil would be brilliant
If you can help it you don't allow any team to shoot at goal. Even a poor quality effort may ricochet or expose poor keeping.
If we are going to talk statistics then I am going to have to bang on about stuff like small sample sizes. Van Persie probably had more shots in 90 minutes (or is that 93) than the whole strike forces of some teams have had in three games. So don't worry about any tables that we are at the bottom of yet. PS. If anyone cares, C Breakspear has been replaced by M Scholes (not ginger) as assistant referee. Anyone?
