I just say Police Chief Sir Norman Bettison speak exclusively to ITV news. He was jittery and panicking and made himself look nasty.

He just kept saying it wasnt his fault and that he wasnt responsible. But it was still the police force he is chief of.

David Cameron wasnt leader of the Conservative party in 1989, but e apologized on their behalf.

David Bernstein was not in charge of the FA in 1989, but he apologized on there behalf.

But Battison was involved at the time.

Bettison has a knighthood and an extremely well paid high profile job and hes clinging onto those things like there's no tomorrow.

He made his tomorrows off the backs of 96 people who tried to cling on to life in the disaster at Hillsborough but lost all their tomorrows due to Bettison and his cronies.

Sack him, prosecute him and take his knighthood back.

 

He did little to keep his dignity on ITV.

Bettison is still trying to blame the fans - according to him, they made it harder for the police to deal with everything.

Just can't accept the blame lies with the policing of the day...

Small nitpick:I wouldn't have labelled them rogues, though. 'Rogue' has certain almost positive connotations, e.g. 'lovable rogue'. It's a bit like calling them 'tykes' or 'scamps'. Say it like it is: these people are vermin!

 

Fair point CCC, it was just what came to mind when i posted the thread.

 

It was probably the supporters carrying stretchers that messed it up for his gallant comrades.

 

The fans made it hard for them? People were dying and they were doing nothing. They were the people who should have been in charge, and responsible for the fans' safety. They had a duty of care that day which they failed to uphold due to gross incompetence. Most normal ppl would have been going ape **** at the ineffectual twats!
