    HUGE fail....
For the record, I'm going for a 2-1 win to Sunderland, AJ will score on his home debut and Fletch will get the other.
I reckon Liverpool are there for the taking.

Haven't covered yourself in glory with that attempted post have you silly boy.

Think we have a good chance of taking 3 points. I think the OP was pretty spot on with his analysis. Our weakness is our defence which is a bit hotch potch at the moment due to injuries.

Very tough game where both teams need a victory to get their respective seasons up and running...Obviously hoping for a Sunderland win, but I wouldn't be too disappointed with a draw..

I completely agree with this sentiment, MrRAWhite, I want a LFC win but would be fairly happy with a draw. A loss would be ... not good, to say the least.

Contextually, LFC need a win to build momentum for the United match. With this in mind, I'd expect us to up our performance from the Arsenal match.

I've predicted a 0-1 win for us, but that's me trying to be positive. I can see why a lot of Sunderland fans are licking their lips in anticipation of this game. We're not quite there yet, and other teams know it. <ok>

I'm not surprised the Sunderland fans are confident, I don't blame them as we're far from the finished article.

So far this season though- Gomal - Played bad - Gomal - Played good - West Brom - Played bad - Man City - Played good - Hearts - Played bad - Hearts - Played bad - Arsenal - played ok (no one will agree with me on that one).

Basically we've been very inconsistent so who knows what Liverpool is going to turn up, perhaps the international break will work in our favor, maybe it wont.. Who knows!

With that said, Sunderland have a good first eleven too so we will have to be at our best to beat them, they have added some real quality to their team so we can't turn up feeling like we have to just play to win, because in reality every football fan knows that's not the case anymore.

Let's hope for a good game and I'm going to be optimistic, and using the reasoning I've given and I'm going to go for 10-0 to us <ok>

We are not looking great at the minute but I reckon we will get a couple of goals, Suarez and Johnson the scorers for us. Think we will concede a penalty and Fletcher will get one for them

We desperately need to get two wins on the spin before we face that lot. Should we do so, we'll take them apart without breaking sweat.

I think this could go either way.

Either a free scoring goal fest.

    Or a tight 1-0 win.

Either way I think we will just edge it.

Tell you what I'm pleased you let the Geordie go off to the smoke. (Even if I think it was a strange decision.)
Yep you over paid for him, but, he is very good at what he does. (And that's a Mackem complimenting a Skunk. :p ) You never seemed to play to his strengths.

As for Henderson from what I have seen of him for you lately, he is getting his confidence back.
You haven't seen the best of him yet.
When he came to you lot he was like a rabbit in headlights.
You could see he was overawed by who he was playing with, deferring to Gerrard and co to the detriment of his own game.

    As for Downing!
There were whispers we were in for him.
Never been so pleased in my life when he went to you lot. :p

  14. Plus the midfield looks dodgy - we have lost Lucas again, Allen as been unwell so his fitness isn't going to be the best and Sahin is still settling in. <ok>

I think we'll win this weekend for the 96 and then follow it up with two more wins, on thursday in the EL and next sunday against Trafford Town.

I'm looking forward to sharing a few beers with some of the lads and lasses who are travelling to the game (there is none of this home fans only ****e in Sunderland). Then I, and I'm sure I speak for virtually every Sunderland here, will stand with you and show our deepest respect, not just for the 96 who died so long ago, but also for their friends, family and campaigners who at long last may feel they are getting the chance of real justice.
Following this, I will be roaring my team on to what I hope will be a victory for Sunderland AFC (although I wouldn't be too unhappy with a draw). Then after the game, regardless of the result, I would be happy to share a few more beers with any fans stopping in Sunderland.

I think we will be ok in the middle.

Shelvey has been doing well and deserves to start, and Henderson could come in.

Gutted i can't get up this weekend <wah> love a trip to the SoL <ok> Hope you lot have an off day obviously but just can't see it at the moment. MONs building a decent squad and he rarely puts out a dis-organised unit so I'm expecting a toughie this weekend (yes another one).

Thanks for all the kind sentiments expressed on our board by the Sunderland fans this week. It really does mean a lot <applause>
