As for it being pointless 'dragging it through courts to punish people who have retired or passed away', why?

It's important that people are held accountable for the disaster, not only for football, but for the whole country, its to show that even though politicians, journalists and policeman are put in positions of power and/or influence that they are NOT above the law, and have to abide by the law in the same way working class people do and that abuse of their power will not be tolerated or accepted by the people. Just like the Leveson enquiry, its a huge deal, and I don't think you quite grasp how big of a deal it is.

@BennyArfa, so you agree that people should be held accountable for the tragedy? So why did you say going through court was 'pointless' a while ago? Was it a genuine post tyat was worded poorly or were you just trying to stir things up on a pretty emotive subject?

The poppy day is about remembering and honouring the country's war dead and i'm certain no football match has ever kicked off on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

We have said that on the 15th of April every year we will have a memorial service at Anfield, the 15th can fall on different days of the week lad(a monday game can be played tuesday and a saturday game sunday etc), so give me an example when its ever affected anyone?

 

They decide to play on the day and if thats what they want to do fine, nobody orders them to play and they could always refuse if they wanted to.

 

just for accuracy's sake Benny, they were NEVER going to get two teams from Liverpool to play at 18.00 on a Sunday evening knowing there was no transport back to Merseyside at that time of night. ironic that they picked a saturday when there was no transport to get them back either, but the FA didn't take that into consideration when the selected that. Point is 1) nobody should be asked to play at that time on a Sunday 2) unless both teams are from london, semis shouldn't be played at wembley, regardless of the fact that the FA over-borrowed to build it 3) the time to consider playing on 15th April has probably now come after wednesday. But that's NOT why Chelsea were forced to play on a Sunday at 18.00 anyway.
