Sorry for the off topicness but in the break i get bored by lack of football so watching Orient v Brentford, nice to see Brentford fans still really, really hating Rowly and even booing Cookie, just got a bit nostalgic about the glory days of the mid 2000's
Brentford fans really, really hate him. Think of us with Terry but even worse, they talk of the night he kissed the badge as if it were a 9/11 scale tragedy...
I remember that game. Tuesday night, oddly great football considering hoof-ball Olly was in charge and a Tony Thorpedo header to secure a 1-0 win. Looking back, I really enjoyed our time in Lge 1. The promotion season was better than our NPC promotion as well, in terms of excitement etc. Am I alone in this?
Strange though it may seem, I have been watching the last 20 mins of this game - just for the ex-R's. Glad we are not down there with this lot!
There was a real buzz that season, particularly after the sour end to the previous season at Cardiff. But that buzz was borne out of the decimation of administration when we got relegated, it seemed to put a new determination in the club and Olly was the perfect catalyst for that...
Not at all, I may usually disagree with you but I am with you here. That season was one of the most enjoyable I can remember, although I'm not that old! I think this was definitely helped by the connection the players had with the fans...we really felt like we earned it.
As much as i love cook..... Watching him tonight he is well past it as a footballer . But must say Rowlands looked very tidy and played well tonight.
Agree 100%. In a way, relegation to the third tier turned the Club around. It meant we could start afresh.
When I got back from work I tuned in to watch this game with score 0-0 live streamed on Bet365 @ 70 min and put a sneaky $3 bet on Orient to win @ 5-1, so collected $15 - yahoo! Missed the goal though as I was getting changed into my shorts as it is nice sunny 27 deg C weather here today with no humidity.
Their vitriol towards Rowlands is unbelievable. I really don't remember him doing anything too out of the ordinary.
