it has to be about money. i would suppose he is on a pay as you play deal (a la Bullard but to a lesser extent). If he moves to Portsmouth or anyone, that deal could be affected
I always had the feeling that Cooper thought he'd proved to city that he was ready to challenge for the first team with his run of games at the back end of the season. When Bruce came in and brought in two cb's he probably knew the score, but wanted to play for us and felt he was better than Macca and Bruce. Also his loans have started ok and then tailed off in the case of Carlisle and then he didn't get too many chances at Udder's. So maybe he thinks a loan may be another wasteful experience, although he must be better than what Pompey have at the minute and would be a definite starter.
Cooper won't be on a par-per-play, he's just out the youth ranks, he'll have declined the loan deal because he wants to play for Hull City in the Championship, rather than living of a suitcase in Portsmouth for a month. He should be on the bench ahead of McShane.
is he as 'flexible' as macca. remember macca played as a midfield maestro at the end of the Bolton game!!!!
OK Mussie, sometimes these guys need to bite the bullet financially to get some experience, which in the long term can benefit them.
I agree he is better the McShane, but there seems to be something not quite right, as he never got much of a chance under NP, NB and now SB,. Also at udderfield he was mainly bench warming, is there something wrong with his attitude?
not justifying it. just saying like. and in terms of doing it for experience/love of the club, etc, I don't buy that. All professional footballers do it as a job. The have families and mortgages to pay just like the rest of us. They wil do what is right for them and the main thing is money and terms of service etc.
Yes at the very least. He should be in the match day squad full stop. Glad that he is at least trying to battle his way back into SB plans. Cooper can play centre back or left back if required and maybe SB wants to see what the lad has. Must be something wrong though but it down to Cooper to prove his worth to the ONE who matters most. The only down side to being out of the coc is that the likes of Cooper dont get a first team chance. Of that we agree.
Yes but they have usually run out well before they have served everyone that wants them. You would think by now they would have an idea how many pies to bloody order.
