a big hug and congrats 2 the families of those who died at hillsborough its been a long hard fight but you got the truth in the end/pity it took this corrupt state 23 years 2 admit it mind.........now lets jail the lot that perverted the course of justice.
Yes, the cover up was appalling. It's a pity those involved weren't man enough to own up to their mistakes because, in reality, "call me Dave" and others in positions of power now can apologise all they like but it doesn't make up for the gutlessness of thir predecessors. All credit to the people of Liverpool, red and blue, for getting together as a city to support the victims' families in all of this, e.g. Everton club shop selling blue shirts with "Respect the 96" logos. Lets hope the mindless chanting about Munich, Heysel and Hillsborough can now stop once and for all.
....agree bluedude..............and its about time laws of this land extend 2 others not just the poor and vunerable.
I was watching the wright stuff on channel 5 , found it interesting what Terry Christian said " if it was 96 people who died at a tennis match , it would never had been covered up " , afraid that's true , the " establishment " looked away and covered up complete incompetence by the police and ambulance service , coroners . If it was any other set of people apart from football fans I truly believed the cover up would never have happened , let's hope the people who lied to save their own necks are now brought to trial .
the fact its taken 23 years for the truth is shocking>>>im no so shocked by the big cover up mind us brits have an history of abusing its power when it suits. im assuming the british justice system will deal with this in an honest and fair way and the right sentencing be handed out 2them who`s morals in humanity were at an all time low. no doubt the maggie regime was a main player in this foul play and disregard against the working classes again, but lets not let them in jobs now take blame for the actions of others who retired before them..........no more goverment fall guys with pay offs please.........let the axe fall on them that gave the orders on the day and them that covered it up afterwards.
I remember watching it all unfold on the day. The sight of the police truncheon beating people who were trying to escape death behind the fencing is still clear to me. The cover up, backed by Maggie the Bitch, along with the appalling lies of The Sun newspaper, was all part of an 'acceptable', orchestrated and deliberate attack on every aspect of working class culture in the 1980's - and beyond. Those of us who remember the 1980's will also remember the treatment we took as normal as the price we paid for attending a footballl match. The unfortunate 96 paid a higher price than the rest of us. We've now had the truth (though 'we' all knew it before), next comes the justice. I'm less than optimistic that anybody responsible for the disaster, lies and injustice will ever see the inside of a prison cell.
wasnt around at the time of events but have read articles and seen documentaries on hillsborough. i'd urge all to read this excellent article on hillsborough in the mirror. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/hillsborough-documents-released-brian-reade-1318730
tbh swamp ive not read a paper since the echo printed mug shots of fans they reckon caused trouble.............now trial by photo can also tell i lie and the fking press now it>>>>>>>>>>>the press are scum whatever paper they are.
At least the full report is now out there in the public domain, i can remember this as if it were yesterday, all those poor people losing their lives at a Football match. You can blame who you like but it wont bring them back, lets hope that some justice is now done. Its the ones at the top who should be first in the dock.
your right ronnie it doesnt bring the dead back but what it does do is clear the name of liverpool football fans families, who i hope can start 2 rest from the torment caused by the lies of the government and its private security forces they call police. this needs 2 start at the top and work its way down>>>>>>we need them who gave the orders for the cover up in jail pronto.....maybe a stint in a prison in liverpool would show them the hurt theyve caused. it does go 2 show we dont live in an equal society if u ask me......we are just rats 2 people like maggie and dai cam and they dont give a fk for us..........the other leaders inbetween these two twats are just as vile and have no morals on life as we know it.
I think you have answered your own question Rubber, No way will anyone in high authority take it on the chin for this. They will probably stitch up some underling to feed to the Lions. Sad but True.
The police were appalling and i can remember watching the incident and someone needs to pay for this, However it was not just the polices fault in its entirety, the clubs must take some of the blame for putting fences around the ground in the first place, I remember the outcry about these fences that it is a bad idea and an accident waiting to happen....Its sad that it did happen....also the fans through out the game must also take some of the blame because hooliganism was rife that led to these fences being put up in the first place.....There is an amalgamation of people who needs to take responsibility for this tragic accident and bot just the police at the time.... very sad...
One of the most surprising things I read was that the game/ground did not have a safety cert for the game. Now this sounds a small detail, but in our modern 'health and safety gone mad' society this wouldn't have happened. I sort of agree with Dai about the relationship with police, as many on here will remember a lot better than me (I'm 35) the **** police had to put up with weekly from some football fans meant they treated them with an equal amount of disrespect back. that doesn't excuse their actions but it does sort of explain why their first reaction was trouble happening rather than tragedy. I totally agree with rubber about the press, I read the bbc site and that's it, unless someone links me from here to wales online. The cover up was inexcusable and it's the people at the top of tree that should answer for that. When 168 statements were being changed, I doubt the average copper thought he could do much other than go with the majority.
stevoldinho even though twenty percent of the police are normal people like ourselves 80percent of police are pigs and i came into football around the time of the miners strike in 1984>>>>>now we all seen what went on there and my anger and many others were intent on attacking police at the first chance we could get................................................we the working classes are the people who were watching football and maggie and the riot squad couldnt help but enjoy the clashes that took place>>>>if it wasnt world wide(bad press for a so called civilised society) and giving bad press it would be still happening on a major scale. maggies head first, then lets get the fking yes men who agreed that it would b better 2 shift ther blame
more shocking revelations coming out aber: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...TY-TIMES-higher-families-children-killed.html 16 policemen got compensation totalling £1.5million, but the families who lost loved ones got just £3500 plus funeral expenses, some got less. beggars belief.
tbh swamp that doesnt shock me......this country is the pits and the class divide is as clear and seperate as ever. we should fking smash the rich and take back our lives from the ****s
