I expected worse from the Manchester games, was somewhat unhappy with the Wigan game, but we can get something from this game

It's so people will have to go to stadium and watch it instead of staying at home and watching it on TV.

Did you watch Man U game? Morgan had Kagawa in his pocket so much so, that Fergie took him off after an hour. If Morgan plays that same role against Arsenal, he will pick up Cazola and nullify that attack.

Agree with that FLT. Morgan had a great game against United.

I see they think Danny Fox is looking a bit doubtful!

Think this gives us the perfect opportunity to really surprise arsenal.

Give Luke shaw a run out and let's see if we can change the formation!

    Davis/Paulo. . Fonte Yoshida. Jos.
    Clyne. Shaw

    Davis. Morgan
    Lallana

    Ramirez.
    Lambert

Think we should play 5 at the back with Wing backs getting forward, also takes the pressure off shaw a bit with 3 centre backs covering.

Might be a risk dropping Ramirez in but we are all firing to see him in a saints shirt!

Was thinking about Lambeth on the bench but he was excellent last game!

What's people opinion of my proposed formation?

Interesting, and if we played that for the first 50 minutes than changed to something more attacking i think we could definitely get something out of the match.

I like how it will mitigate the way cazorla can pick apart defences, as if there is an extra defender there will be less space. However I think individually our defenders aren't up to coping with a purely counterattacking formation.

Interesting, I'll give you that. There's not a lot wrong with the 433 though and I don't think Adkins would want to confuse the players by playing with this formation while they're still getting used to the current system. Martinez was in a position to try pretty much anything new having been on the back of an 8 game losing run with Wigan. He's also famiiar with the 343 as it gets used quite a bit in Italy.

Lambert on the bench to throw on and start taking the game to them is a decent plan. I'm not sure why some people are so hostile to it. We did it against City and it totally changed the game. We came quite close to gettng something out of a game that no one gave us a chance in. So far, Arsenal have two 0-0 draws and a win against a poor Livepool side who made it easy for them. They aren't at their jbest and it looks like life without Van Persie is taking a bit of getting used to. This is a good time to play them and we should definately go there thinking positively.

i cant actually remember saints ever winning at arsenal away, they used to beat us at home normally too! when did we last win away at arsenal, does anyone know (without cheeting)?

i live pretty near the emirates but dont have a ticket so am gonna try my luck on the day for a ticket tout.

i love the saints but i just cant see how we are going to win this one. we've been bloody unlucky so far this season but i reckon arsenal are going to be a real force this season and i'd literally be amazed if we beat them.

I actually think we should be confident of getting something out of this game we have played well the first 3 games and apart from maybe being a little unlucky and naive we should of at least got a point by now, also is it a sign of how far that saints have come or how bad arsenal are now that we are confident of getting a result away to arsenal.

The 3 kept Carrick and Cleverly very quiet too. In fact Man U's threat before they brought Scholes on was pretty much all our own doing. If players do what they're told, don't do anything stupid and have a solid gameplan for 90 minutes plus, I can see us causing an upset. Arsenal don't have a load of strength in depth and I think we can exploit that late in the match if we save some quality to bring on. Bringing Lambert and Davis on against City hit them hard. Doing the same with Lambert and Ramirez I reckon could hit Arsenal even harder.

Personally I can't see to many changes coming into the starting line-up.

    Davis
Clyne, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox (unless injured)
    Schneiderlin, JWP, Davis
    Punch, Lambert, Lallana

Obviously we don't know if anyone has a injury or not, but I wouldn't swap Puncheon for Ramirez. Clyne and Puncheon have a good understanding at the moment, JP also put in a very good performance against MU so I can't see him being ousted out of the 11 for Ramirez who only arrived today.

Subs: I expect to include all 3 of are late arrivals (Mayuka, Yoshida and Ramirez). Some journo said he doubts Ramirez will even be in the squad judging by the remarks made by NA, honestly I don't believe that, if he his fit and ready he will be in the squad like Mayuka was against MU.

Looking forward to this one, especially as I will be in the notorious library end (home fans) with some mates who support Arsenal.

I think we might see Clyne at left back and Richardson at Right back if Fox is injured.

Yeah! We Arsenal fans should stop predicting wins against newly promoted teams that are yet to get a point, and when has playing at home ever been an advantage!?!?
