Maybe he should have mentioned it to someone then? Seen as there would seem to be no record of this anywhere else, apart from the front page of the sun.

As opposed to hundreds if not thousands of people who have categorically denied that, your "eyewitness" is questionable at best, and in my opinion a filthy liar.

Oh FFS go get your Liverpool shirt on you ****ing drama queen. I bet it was amazing to see your ''heroes'' like Stevie G at the KC when we were in the prem. Makes a change from watching them from your comfy armchair. I've looked at this board long before I ever posted on it and I can see a closet premier league big boy fan a mile off. You are a condescending little p rick

Publish that someone is a murderer when their not and they can take action, pretty simple really. Obviously they won't even read it let alone be bothered by what people on here have to say but your showing your ignorance by suggesting that is rubbish.

As for pathetic posts, glass houses and stones come to mind.

    MODERATOR MESSAGE.

I appreciate it's an emotive subject and people have differing experiences, but stick to discussing the issues rather than just tossing in personal abuse.

I thought the findings of this report were meant to put to bed all untruths?

In which case, people should accept the conclusion that the Police were to blame. And they knew it, hence cover up.

The fact that people continue to say "the fans can't be blameless" is astonishing to me. The panel was set up to get to the truth of the matter, and it has. Yet people still produce innuendo.

Drunkenness doesn't come into it, they tested everybody and found the crowd were no more drunk than any other. Ticketlessness doesn't come into it either, a crowd is a crowd regardless of number, and the Police have a duty of care to manage it correctly. It is, simply, their job.

They didn't manage it properly, resulting in deaths.

It was the herders, not the herd.

The report and the panel's findings say this, and they have had access to ALL of the evidence. I don't see how any of us ****wits are in any position to say "well that can't be right". We don't know a fraction of what they know.

    Couldn't agree more.

Now that the truth is out, hopefully the families can get the justice they want and deserve.

So all is hunky dory is it? Why then in the first competitive meeting between the 2 sides at Anfield since Heysel, when Liverpool fans offered a choreographed fans apology the travelling Juventino turned their backs in a moving snub?

    Completely agree with this!!

Airlie has posted so much uneducated rubbish on this thread seemingly without one iota of knowledge about what happened that day; he clearly hasn’t read the report or listened to the PM, both of which render his argument useless.

FT can be a little bit OTT sometimes, perhaps mass murder is taking it too far (as he admitted) but his belief and argument is the same as the one that the report has proved.

The police failed. 96 innocent people died. They MUST be held accountable.

Airlie is right that you can't just go around calling people murderers though, Tickler or the owners of this site 'could' be prosecuted, as his statement was libellous ("the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, religion, or nation a negative or inferior image. This can be also any disparaging statement made by one person about another, which is communicated or published, whether true or false, depending on legal state.")

I never once suggested he would be charged, quite the opposite, no one will read or would be bothered by what he said, merely that what he did say is technically libel, which it undeniably is.

While the report removes all blame (rightly) from the fans, it doesn't change what happened that day, they were a contributing factor in an unfortunate series of events. It was not their fault and they were victims but had there not been thousands crowding outside the ground the accident would never have happened, people like you find this hard to grasp. Just because they were a contributing factor doesn't mean they are at fault, nor does it remove any responsibility from the police.

We're never going to agree on this so I see an further response futile.

    It's all semantics;
Can you be charged with libel? I thought it was a case of being sued, but I doubt the court would be too interested in discussing whether being accused of murder by a poster on a messageboard was worse than a suggestion of manslaughter by a Government report.

I think people are getting too hung up on petty side issues and topics they lack experience of.

Lest we forget that 96 innocent people lost their lives that day.

Despite the fact that the report has finally confirmed that the OB were to blame, 41 families yesterday found out (or at least had it finally confirmed) that their loved one's could and should have saved that day.

We all have our opinions on the disaster; how, what, where, when, why etc etc. It's a highly emmotive subject that will divide opinion as it always has done.

It's a poor show when we can't even have a debate on such an emotive subject without it turning into a slanging match as usual!

I agree 100% with the sentiments and I'm sure the slanging matches only arose due to the emotive nature of the subject, it doesn't mean we respect those that died or have suffered since any less.

The fans did not create the problem.
