Just curious what films people have seen from the list. It's something I've been working on over the summer, going from 78 to 135 since May.

    http://www.250films.net/list/

Edit: Make that 136, just watched Platoon, and my God was that intense. Up there with Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket as one of the great Vietnam films (I'm yet to see The Deer Hunter which I've heard is the equal of the other 3.)

I lost count on 113 towards the end because it took me until then to notice the foreign films are in their native language! d'oh!

my name is from the greatest film ever made, Goal, that was not in that list. I am writing a letter of complaint to IMDB as we speak.

Quite enjoyed the film, saw it on one of the away day trips. They usually have football related videos to play on the way there and back.

Only 65. I thought that was quite poor considering I do really like films.

The first one is definitely worthy of it's spot. Just a shame the sequels ruined it's reputation.

I was actually going to post that the whole list must be bogus since Goal! was not numbers 1. through 100.

Hopefully your complaint letter will get this oversight addressed.

I counted 118, funnily enough I watched Vertigo only yesterday, it was on one of the Sky channels quite recently, and I had recorded it.
Very surprised it was so high at 49, didn't think it was that good, and it was way too long.

I realise how many classic films I have never properly watched, just half wat hed through a beery haze on boxing day.

Would highly recommend most Studio Ghibli films, it's a shame the general tackiness of anime tends to put people off them, to me they are the natural successor to the 'proper' Disney films before they changed their style circa Pocahontas.

Before I reply can I just check the general consensus. Which of these is more cool / uncool?

    1. To have watched lots (or even all) of them? (i.e. super cool as far as knowing all things film related? - or just a nerd who needs to get a life?)
    OR
    2. To have watched hardly and (or none) of them (i.e. totally cluesless about films? - or top marks for not 'wasting' hours/weeks/years of life in a cinema stuffing popcorn?)

    Cheers <ok>

Either answer is uncool, therefore cool, therefore uncool. Ok?
