Likely Arsenal side: ---------------------------Manone------------------------ Jenkinson-----Mertesacker-----Vermaelen-----Gibbs ----------------------Arteta-----Coquelin----------------- ---------------------------Cazorla------------------------- Chamberlain----------------------------------Podolski ---------------------------Giroud-------------------------- Take Cazorla out and that's a fairly ordinary looking PL side. The other significant threat is Chamberlain (or possibly Gervinho) running at Fox/Shaw. Service to Giroud and Podolski is likely to come from Cazorla or Chamberlain/Gervinho, so it's those we'll have to deal with. Giroud is a big bloke who doesn't have a lot of pace and prefers not to come deep. If we close down Cazorla, he'll be forced deeper and won't be much of a threat. It won't be easy, but it's good for us that so much of their play revolves around one main man.
Diaby will be a big loss for them, dont know whats the score with sicknote Walcott, hope he does not play as Fox would make him look good. Would love to see the new boys, but I fear they will all be on the bench after thier flights and not having trained with the first team. I would go for the same starting formation.Maybe give Chaplow the brief of man marking Cazola and drop one of Davis or JWP
We could say we needed someone to look after Scholes, its a tricky job which normally involves a booking so Chaplow is perfect. We can try to combat thier main offensive threat, or we can play our own game
Starting to dislike a few gunner's fans. Early thoughts on there board is they're going to walk over us. Even Man Utd/City both had a little bit of awareness on the match ahead and didn't count their chickens before the match but a team who's only scored twice in 3 games has 5 points/9 do. I understand they're favourites by far but i bloody hope the team estimate us about the same as the fans have so far...
That's where it could have been useful to have Cork or Ramirez on the bench for fresh legs. Morgan, Davis and JWP are all capable of such a job. Freshening up to get through the final part of the game will be handy.
Personally, I'd like to see Lambert, Ramirez and Mayuka come on all at the same time at around 65-70 minutes in. Wenger would **** himself!
A regular top-4 team confident they'll beat a pointless recently promoted team? Well I ****ing never!
Saints fans usually predicted a win for us last season...why?...because it was odds on. Don't expect Arsenal fans to be any different. If you don't want to be offended, don't go on their board.
Arsenal are favourites to win on saturday, of course they are, they are playing at home against a newly promoted side. It won't be easy for them or for us.I think we will win 3-1 with two late goals from us.
I think we'll lose this, but unlike the two Manchester games, I wouldn't be surprised here if we didn't.
Oh my, the arrogance over there is outrageous. I won't tar them all with the same brush, but the way some of them carry on, you'd think Arsenal were winning trophies ever year. Crazy.
Not offended, but calling us a L1 team really does make me think its a kid on a computer who's just won the Champions league with arsenal on his xbox, & now is going to take on the world! "If wez dont thrash em, Im guna be wel mad brov."
Sometimes I think other supporters are stupid, then I go on Saintsweb. Anyway I'm sure most Arsenal fans are decent folk, and most probably expect them to win as well.
