Had a rather drunken arguement with my mates last night about which you would rather win
so if you were a player which would you rather win the world cup or the champions league?

I would personally choose world cup as we all know Englands history and you would be a national hero... However to win the champions league especially if with Newcastle (i know not realistic) would be a very hard descision.

As a player, World Cup. Being Welsh would make it incredible(y unlikely).

As a supporter, Champs League, just to rub it in the faces of the glory hunting Manure and Chelski fans I know.

Yeah this. Scoring the winning goal in a World Cup final probably beats scoring the winning goal in the Champs League final.

    Player - World Cup
    Supporter - Champions League

Half the fun of winning as a supporter is rubbing it the faces of friends

Maybe then Wenger could takeover from Capello. There's a lot of similarities between Arsenal and England there....

No brainer for me. Champions League!

Unless Guernsey ever starts competing internationally, but then we'd be about on a par with San Marino or Liechenstein so the world cup would still be unlikely.

As a player World Cup, as a fan probably Champions League, though I'm not the biggest fan of Champions League football.

to be honest, dont care for england or any international games/football...... you could say its because of the lack of international fixtures, or when ever one comes up and its a friendly most players pull out because of a "injury"..

dont get me wrong i wish england well, being english and what not, but for me its my club first.

As a player, World Cup without a shadow of a doubt. The Champions League rolls around every year, but winning the World Cup really is something special which few achieve.

As a player, the world cup, so I'll vote that since you're asking from the player's point

As a supporter definitely rather see Newcastle lift the Champions League. As a personal accolade the World Cup is obviously the most prestigious, but as I'm 100% English, winning the World Cup would involve sharing a hotel with Rooney, Terry et al for a month. Nothing is that prestigious, I'll take the Champions League again. <ok>
