He seems to have a good mentality, he's learning from the best and has fantastic ability. What a signing!

Like Tiote(/pretty much every DM in history), he can be a bit over-zealous at times and get caught out, but he carries a great deal of maturity in his play a lot of the time and it's great to see. Has he declared for a national side as yet?

 

No, not yet. He's Eligible for four (Burundi, DR Congo, England, & Uganda) but says it's between England and Burundi.

Pearce would do well to bring Gael into the u21 set up, he's much more talented than Henderson, Shelvey & Mceacheran and is better than Lansbury and will be a vastly superior footballer to Jack Rodwell.

 

The longer he stays under the radar the better !!

 

Yeah, don't want him over exposed to either poaching or injury. But, his attitude is spot on. Seems as though he has had to fight personal battles and overcome many hurdles to get where he is today, that tends to breed humility and respect.
