Well then you got told a load of bollocks. I really like it. The improvements are subtle, but IMO there wasn't much wrong with it anyway.
It's not a bad idea in all fairness. The game do use real football scouts to create their database - and there have been a fair few players that I've found at random foreign teams 3-4 years before they were signed up in real life by a PL side. I remember particularly finding Brad Guzan on '06. Not that he's the best keeper in the division or anything, but still.
Agree with that about Fifa 12 being pretty good, just needed a few tweaks, theres quite alot of new features for when the full version comes out. Last years Fifa 12 demo was quite a bit different to the actual full release. Looking forward to Career mode, I usually get bored with it, but All the new features theyve put in makes it sound alot more like a FM where you can actually play as a player. You can player manage at International level if you get the chance, Can finally part exchange players in transfers, im im sure i heard EA will update squad lists weekly to keep up with transfers/injurys/player form so should make it quite interesting during the course of your season. Was reading up on Fifa 13 yesterday and they have a team of 4000+ data analysts so player attributes etc should be pretty accurate.
Yeah to be fair I didn't particularly enjoy the Fifa 12 demo but I think it was mainly because I couldn't get used to the passing, although the comedy of the player collisons where one suddenly started raping their opponent from behind got old very quickly. Be a Pro, or Player Career mode, has been around for years so I'm not sure why you've brought that up. I wanted a revamp of the Career mode transfer system in terms of teams selling any player as long as it was above their value (ie David Silva, Nasri, Tevez would always be sold by Man City) - it seems they've sorted that. I'm a bit concerned that the player exchange thing may mess it up though - these deals don't happen very often and I can just imagine some ridiculous transfers happening like Rooney for Ibra, Nani for Bale, De Gea for Szecensy and Vidic for Subotic - all in the same window. Maybe not that bad but you get the idea. I'm not bothered about the weekly updates - surely that will only affect friendles, and not say, Career mode where you have your own form, morale, injuries, etc? I think Fifa are always pretty accurate at ratings - their only problems being that young lower league players don't grow enough, ie Chester, Dudgeon, or Cooper who remains about 10 overall for the duration of your Career I've said all this, and I'm not even going to be able to get the game. I'm a huge nerd, aren't I?
Does FIFA13 have subs warming up or are you saying they should add it? I always do **** as city on Fifa, got sacked by them after 2 seasons of finishing 17th and 18th....then went to Newcastle Jets and stayed there for 3 seasons and ended up winning the play offs with them...now i'm at Tranmere in League 1 in the play off places...i get bored easily so always start up new manager modes
Complaints I have about FIFA: 1. Player ratings increase more when games are simulated than when you actually play them 2. It seems to me that because EA can't make opposing players substantially better in Legendary Mode than in World Class, they instead make the game harder by putting more glitches in 3. In Legendary Mode, there are two players who are almost impossible to play against: Wayne Rooney and... dun dun duuun! Gabriel Agbonlahor 4. Ridiculous transfers, including David Silva moving clubs every transfer window and Emmanuel Adebayor going back to Arsenal 5. Selling players is a nightmare. Sometimes I'll receive an offer for a player that's about £20-30m more than they're worth. Even if they're an integral part of my team, I'll be tempted to sell. When I accept, either nothing happens - and the offer comes up again next time I receive an offer for a different player - or I'm told that 'transfer talks have broken down'. This is MY GAME, EA! If I want to sell someone, LET ME F*CKING SELL THEM! 6. That stupid, annoying, grating ****ing impact engine that does nothing but occasionally cause a couple of players to gyrate against each other mid-game 7. The quick throw-ins are actually more annoying, as players usually just stand next to the ball and stare into space without picking the ****er up
The quick throw ins were a massive fail. Most of the time, they just miss the ball! The impact Engine was also a complete fail, players seemed to be able to be stuck within another player. No Cristiano Ronaldo pun there... I was always getting offers for players that were constantly below the valuation of the player and that was annoying. You missed out the way that some specific players would constantly ask for a "Rest" as they weren't feeling sharp when there's a massively important fixture coming up like a Cup Tie against Man U or something... Hope Fifa13 has changed all these!
I think in the new FIFA you can request a certain amount for a player if you receive an offer. I'm imagining that, in true EA style, you'll have to do this every single time you receive an offer from a different club, instead of just being able to set a particular price tag for each player in the 'sell player' section. I can't decide whether I like "player stories" or not. I think it's a good concept, but when you start as Arsenal or Barca and RVP/Messi instantly want to leave it's just stupid. They're the main reason you were that team! Plus the contract refusals were ridiculous. e.g Jay Simpson offered £6k - nah I'm leaving - cue huge newspaper reports... next day - £6.1k, 5 year deal? Yeah go on then!
You're so right It reminds of two stories from two of my career modes: 1. I got an offer of £30m from Man City for a player (can't recall who) who was rated around £22m, and who wanted to leave. I declined, as my entire team was built around them. On transfer deadline day, I get an e-Mail from 'the board' saying that he'd been sold behind my back to Man City for £19m 2. I move all retired players and players now at teams not in the game to free agents. Ledley King is one of those. I started a career mode and offered him exactly what was suggested (two years at £6k p/w). I then received an e-Mail saying he was 'happy at his current club', meaning I had to up the offer to nearly £10k p/w before he accepted This is all because of that ******ed bit of the game that's programmed so John Terry will never join you, or, if you're Chelsea, leave you (even when you accept offers of twice his worth, the ****ing ****) because he's been with them for so long that he's somehow grown attached
It could have been worse, I could be a fan of a club whose owner sold Michael Turner for 1/3 of what they valued him at. Oh wait...
I doubt this has been sorted but it'd like realistic contracts. Just ballpark figures, it doesn't have to be perfect, obviously there's a lot of players to cover. But EA don't bother with that, the default contracts before signings are made are simply relative to their overall rating. It'd feel a bit more real if the like of Olofinjana and McShane were on £20k+, making you more tempted to sell them to free up the wage budget, and for teams to offer you cut-price deals because of it. Bullard is the best example of this but he obviously isn't around now so it doesn't apply. Still, back on FIFA 10/11, he was on maybe £10k and if you sold you could get around £1m for him, whereas in reality we were desperate to get rid of him on a free to save on the wage budget.
I've played a couple of games on it and I thought it was the best FIFA game yet, the graphics are good and the gameplay is polished and realistic, the first touch thing is something new to master, but a great aspect, can't wait for the full release, my Xbox gamertag is CallumLive123 (****, I know) if anyone is interested when it comes out, if you're downloading it for Xbox and you can't be bothered to leave your Xbox and wait for the download, you can go into System Settings and change the download settings to download whilst your Xbox is turned off, don't turn it off by the plug though as it won't download whilst it's turned off, can't wait to do a Career Mode with City, to be honest I don't want Bruce to make anymore signings, by the time it comes out I won't have any targets worth purchasing because we'll have a massive squad!
