Dont even bother to try and be clever over this. The facts are now out. Regardless of what you think.

You shout up,, ffs. The Police knew the Lepping Lane End was over full and should have taken action long before. As one poster has said on here already, Did the Police let this happen on purpose for another reason.?

    This should never have happened.

It's slander, simple as, freedom of speech does not cover that I'm afraid.

For you to be right, the facts that are out have to prove the police knew their actions would kill 96 individuals and that the knowingly took those actions with the intention of killing them, that's murder. The facts that come out will most probably be able to bring someone to justice for manslaughter.

I'm not being clever, I'm being impartial, something which for you is understandably hard to be on such a subject.

The facts are out and they will prove you wrong in that you suggest the police murdered those people but correct in that the police were responsible for the deaths.

AGREED. ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE THAT OCCURED THAT DAY, what makes it even worse is that Bruce Grobbalaar(the Liverpool GK) was told he would be arrested by one Policeman for having a go about the situation. All Bruce wanted was for the fench gate to be opened up.

I agree that it shouldn't have happened, but that's simply not murder.

yes but he's hardly going to be taken to court for it though, is he? and you wanted the word "libel", not "liable". libel is the written version of slander.

I didn't say he was, but it's a reckless, inaccurate thing to say.

Thanks for the correction, on the iPhone and not spell checking!

I agree i have an impartial view of this But from what ive been told from my mate that was there looking down beggars belief. The Police in charge killed these people by there actions of the day. Why then have they tried to cover things up ? Ok mass murder maybe OTT but it was still murder imo.

It wasn't murderer in the slightest, nor was it manslaughter...i don't think anybody meant for what happened, to happen.

It was a disaster caused by a simple mistake from police who probably panicked in what to do, once the gate opened there was no hope in shutting it.
It was avoidable, but aren't most disasters?

I don't doubt you, I feel for your mate having to see what he did that day.

My issue was just with branding it murder, which would make it a completely different case IMO. As unjust as it all seems it is still only mansluaghter, we would all like those responsible to face the most severe punishment, there's no dispute about that.

It is the definition of manslaughter.

The cover up by the police is despicable but hardly surprising considering the age we lived in.
There was also a failing of police in their duty of care - but looking back at that time (and it wasn't long ago) the police were never carers nor were they tolerant .
Also for the previous 20 odd years football fans were being associated more and more with crowd trouble and no doubt coupled with the above ,the police treated everyone poorly .
Clearly those to be blamed that day were the police they caused the disaster and they failed to react properly to prevent serious incidents .its heartbreaking seeing that the only people who seemed to know what was happening that day were the fans desperate to help the injured .

Liverpool did apologise to Juve Zingy, only 20 years after the event though and only when they **** themselves as they had Juve in the same Champions League Group, i also remember a sizable number of Juve fans failed to accept that token apology.
Liverpool FC are equal to the South Yorkshire Police.
On another note congratulations on finally getting justice for your 96.

It cannot be murder, but there may be a possibility of charges of involuntary manslaughter due to gross negligence

    <laugh>

Comparing the actions of The Yorkshire Ripper and the copper who ****ed up( yes he ****ed up but it was more than likely a genuine mistake made by a clueless senior OB who didn't have the first idea about football crowds) is just laughable.

Come on Tickler that's just plain daft.
