From the actual quotes I've read it only seems a minor precaution. He'll probably be in the squad against Southampton, even if he doesn't start.
It might be a blessing in disguise that he doesn't play for France. If he's carrying a strain from the last game, then we don't want him aggravating it. Better to give him a break and let it heal. Hopefully he'll be back for us against Southampton
Is it worth risking a half fit Diaby though? I'd give Coq a start, or use Kos as a DM. It's only Southampton.
Well I don't think we should underestimate any team we play against, but I agree that we should probably rest Diaby for this game, maybe play him as a sub ?
But still a team to be beaten and we need a good home win this weekend - strongest available team please, always
I don't think Southampton are capable of playing the way Sunderland and Stoke did so should be a more open game. Problem is that the only fit replacement at the moment is Ramsey
It sounded more like a bruise or a knock than a strain, which is, I believe, a less serious issue. If he can't play, it will be interesting to see who plays instead. If it isn't Coquelin then he is probably gone in January, if it is him, it will be his big chance to impress.
Why oh why didn't we at least put Ramsey out on loan? And no one say because we have a lack of midfielders. An empty shirt laying on the floor is more effective than Ramsey.
I think the criticism of Ramsay is a little harsh. Why do we have to be so negative about our young players? Regardless, If Diaby isn't fit, then I would give his position to the Ox.
I don't wanna be a Ramsey hater, but he really is ****ting his talent away. What happened to make him this bad? By all means give him a chance in the Carling Cup, but Premier League is too important. If Wenger picks him I'd be bloody annoyed. -EDIT- And the criticism isn't harsh. People are actually saying he should be dropped for Wales (and then saying it would be difficult because he is their captain). Why on Earth should Arsenal play him? He's been consistently bad for a long time now, he deserves the criticism, and deserves to play in the reserves.
Give it a "break", that was ages ago, and he was playing better before he got worse. Remember the first half of last season?
He was and his fitness got worse as the season went on. That's probably because he has never played a full season and the fact he was coming back from such a long lay off. When he was playing badly, the fans hardly backed him, in fact they did the opposite. That would not have helped his confidence much. Even in the first half of last season he was still not at his best and there is still a hesitation to his game.
Ramsey has no confidence right now.. he needs to be sent out on loan until he can get some confidence back. I wouldn't sell him just yet...
Send him to Fleetwood town, he wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Why can't we just sell him though? He's looking a bit Randall-ish at the moment. Even Lansbury would have been a better bet, and for some reason we sold him.
