I have been thinking recently how City could develop a world class training facility and have a centre of sport which could be used all the time and one thought I had would be to work with Ferriby to develop a site between Ferriby and Melton.

There could be a small 2,000 seat/standing Stadium for Ferriby/Reserve matches and a number of training facilitiles/education facilities like one of those government 'free schools' or Academies on the same site.

Manchester City are going to build something a little more grand (see link) but I would think that something along those lines should be considered if we ever make the Premier League again. I would happily become the bouncy tigers like West Brom and invest well rather than blow it all like last time.

Ferriby could use the stadia on match days and some facilities and sell Church Lane for a few well proportioned houses for key workers.

Seems a sensible idea to me.

Agree entirely with everything you've posted there. It seems logical and beneficial for both Ferriby and City. Get contacting the Club! ;)

Slight problem. There are plans to build a housing estate on that site that are well under way.

It's going to be called Melton Fields and will be be built by Mowden . The locals aren't overly chuffed as it will put a strain in local amenities , particularly the schools. A percentage will be affordable housing as well and we can't be having that in the West Hull villages. That's for poor people.

The second consultation takes place fairly soon. I went to the first one and it was a waste of time. The bloke I spoke to from Mowden was a complete prick.

They've already saturated Elloughton and Brough with 'poor people housing', now its Melton's turn, when will it stop? I don't like poor people and would rather not have them near me, unless they're serving me in a shop, restaurant etc.

That isnt a very nice thing to say about North Ferriby United footballers. Blame the proliferation of Sky in football for their lack of wages. ;)

I have been saying it for years now. Hull City should work much closer with North Ferriby and give them all our top kids which in turn would help get Ferriby to the Conference league. Thats a great league to develop in as was seen with Conor Townsend last season. The likes of East and Bradley(as examples) should also have been sent there.
We should also have tie ups with Grimsby and Scunny for a natural progession of our kids. Townsend and Cooper at the very least should surely be offered to Scunny in there desperate plight. It shows a lack of forsight imo.

As for the Ferriby ground and location its good enough as it is imo. One great thing about North Ferriby are the Pies. Worth going just for the pies. I am looking forward to tonights reserve game for that reason alone.

I've been to that ground dozens of times and have never tried one. Are they that good?

Ferriby used to be part of Hull up until relatively recently. It was the first council estate, but was given to the East Riding as the social care of the inhabitants was felt to be too much of a burden on normal people.

I know what you mean. There are still some council houses in Ferriby which I'm not too happy about.

I've started a campaign to have them demolished so as not to lower the tone of the place.

Nearly the whole village has signed up to it, the residents of said council houses aren't overly please though and some have lived in those houses for fifty odd years. Not one of those inconsiderate buggers has signed my petition.

    They shouldn't be selfish IMO.

Hopefully we'll have them flattened by Christmas.

Picking on people that have lived there 50 odd years all sounds a bit parochial to me. I mean, do you get many in Ferriby that live normal years?

Not many. Such is the quality of life out here that average life expectancy is 119, which is hardly normal.

My next door neighbour is 127.

    FACTOID.

About 8 miles to the West of Hull.

It's full of ****s. Thought I'd get that in before anyone else.

    I live there.

Carmine, who was your past incarnation? Are you TWF with a new name, you just seem to have turned up this morning. Also why do you have no rep power after posting over 3000 times, I'm guessing it is because you are TWF?

NFUNo1 but wasn't over joyed at being called NF.

I thought a change was necessary.

As for this rep power thing?

I only use this site on my phone( on the app) so don't even know what that means.

Are you Telling me I'm as popular as Perry?

    Cool.

I think the rep power is affected by number of posts and since you've posted a lot, I thought maybe you were TWF and your rep power had been neutered by the Mods for causing controversy or something.
