United pulling a platini FFP

United didnt want FFP when they could go and buy someone like Veron when noone else could afford him, in the past few years United have failed to sign a few big names and this was before City. Now with Chelsea and Manchester City.. United don't have first pick of players coming to the premiership or emerging young home players.

I cannot remember anyone calling united this or that for singing Veron and saying they are buying the league. 20m for RvN was a lot back then too. Both RvN and Veron amount to 100m as players in general cost twice as much these days. Zidane went for 40m but he'd go for 100m+ in today's market.

So United having had the luck of obtaining a whole team practically to come through together, which is the mainstay of their low spending (Fergie has been average and nothing more in the transfer market compared ot say Wenger) didn't prevent them spending massive amounts on players compared to other Premiership clubs.

Now we have dodgy dhl deals and BBC un-bans while also attempting to structure the league rules to fit them and hinder opponents.

No big surprise there.

I'm quite happy I opted out of this horsesh!t corrupt football other than to watch games. It is a circus and everyone can see what United are up to yet it is denied.. it is so obviously pathetic an attempt to retain control of the premiership via non football means.

It's cos they were complacent and didnt actually want it

The sooner fergie retires the better, only then will United lose a lot of control as it comes via him and not the club.
