That's exactly it. They were vital links to our chain to the Prem. We may hold our nose when we look at that part of our history, but if I were a Birmingham fan, I'd be looking at where QPR are now, and hope that Flav doesn't f*ck around too long trying to run their team before calling upon wealthy and astute back up

Every manager he chose was a joke, it was only when Amit took over and Tango took a back that we started to go somewhere.

Tango didnt get us up, Warnock didnt get us up. It was all on Taarabt with an outstanding season.

Agree with most of that, though I think you understate NW's role. On Taarabt alone, he went off to North Africa to persuade the guy to sign permanently. He was successful and as you say, Adel had an outstanding season. NW also brought in Hill, Derry and Mackie who've not done badly for us. It was after he sold Gorkks that it all started to go pear shaped for him

Utter utter nonsense as usual. COLIN got us up as he was the Manager who signed Taarabt! <doh> He also built the entire team around him and as a result we walked the league.

"Warnock did't get us up", Flyerism of the week so far.

It was the team that got us up, the sum of it's parts. Put in place by Warnock...

Warnock got lucky, by his own admission we were going for it that season. You could take out any player with the exception of Taarabt and we would have still gone up. Of course it was a team effort that was as much as a 1 man team as Ive ever seen at QPR.

Absolutely unbelievable. Totally oblivious to the irony of what he just posted, Flyer has just explained that the team COLIN put together was so good in fact, that he could have lost any of the players (except Tarbs) and yet still achieve promotion. Far from showing that COLIN was lucky, it actually goes to prove that he built an extraordinary team for that division from scratch!

Just when you thought you've already heard the Flyerism of the week, he goes and conjures up something even more golden to add to the archive.

    Congratulations Flyer.

On 13 March 2009, he joined Championship team Queens Park Rangers on loan until the end of the season
Tottenham confirmed in October 2009 that Taarabt could stay at QPR for the season providing that a Premier League club did not make a bid for him in the January transfer window.[9] QPR were unable to make the transfer a permanent one because they could not afford the £4.5 million valuation placed on Taarabt by Spurs.

Warnock arrived after we signed him on loan and after we wanted to sign him permanently. Anyone who thinks Warnock signed him is a moron, we had several managers between his arrival and trying to sign him permanently and when we actually did sign him.

    Paulo Sousa November 2008 April 2009 26 7 12 7 26.9
    Gareth Ainsworth (Caretaker) April 2009 June 2009 5 1 1 3 20.0
    Jim Magilton June 2009 December 2009 24 9 8 7 37.5
    Steve Gallen & Marc Bircham (Caretaker) & December 2009 December 2009 1 0 1 0 0
    Paul Hart December 2009 January 2010 5 1 2 2 20.0
    Mick Harford (Caretaker) January 2010 March 2010 7 1 0 6 14.3

Including Warnock's Premier League games whilst the rest of them only dreamed of Managing in that division shows up Fyer's bias immediately. Still, without realizing it, he's proved COLIN's record beyond doubt because despite including the PL, his win % is still way out in front.

How Flyer can deny COLIN bringing us up, let alone signing Taarabt (which he did. FACT. No arguments on FACTS) just goes to show how skewed his vision and totally amateur his football knowledge really is.

I've posited this question before but I do wonder if said poster only decided to follow football in the last year or two because his lack of understanding of the game is genuinely astounding.

Signing off this thread now before an argument starts.
