Yes he does. End product sometimes lets him down, but his control, skill and awareness are very good. It's a shame that England doesn't produce many players like him.
Yes he does. In fact, he spends more time looking up, seeing where the pass is, than bothering to see where the ball is, because it's tied to his foot.

Sterling looked extremely good against arsenal when he had the ball, he went missing for a long period but as an impact player he would be a great option. In fairness I think Sterling would be more effective than lallana, both being slightly lacking in end product although both have hit the bar and neither have scored in the premier league yet.
Sterling is a winger and managers are more prepared to take risks with wingers. In fairness though, he is a bright young player. Before fates are sealed at the end of the season, you could probably count the number of 17/18 year old English players playing a significant role in the PL on your fingers. JWP is likely to be in there by the end of the season when Hodgson has seen more of him.

He won't be forgotten and I would suggest that by the next round of International matches if Rickie keeps doing well he will jump ahead of Bent and Carroll. Roy is a very good manager and will not be sacrificing now for the sake of blooding a team for the future. He will utilise the best players to get the desired outcome at that time. That doesn't mean Rickie will get to play in the World Cup, just that if he is firing then Roy will utilise his form. Add to that Crouch has been exiled for refusing to go on standby then he has a great chance. Just like Zamora had a chance under Capello. JWP will not be in the England side before the end of this season at least. Yes he has started 2 premier league games but competition in the centre for England is tough. Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Parker. All quality players if tactics are right however their age is a good sign for JWP. He is coming through at exactly the right time I could see it being Lallana on the left and Chambers on the right by the time the world cup comes around and maybe Rickie plus JWP in the squad too? The qualifying campaign I think should be more about building the team rather than simply picking the in-form players. Form is temporary, class is permanent. A national team is the best players in the country, not those in a purple patch, but are generally inferior players. Hodgson should have a prelimiary squad in mind for 2014 and get all of those players nicely involved well before the tournament, so he isn't crowbarring in a load of new faces in the warmup friendlies. We've done a lot of throwing around of insignifcant cameos in recent years. It's nice for them to get a cap to their name, but if they're there out of tokenism rather than because they're actually part of our plans, there's not much point them being there. If Lambert played 15 minutes against San Marino and was never seen again in an England shirt, the team wouldn't benefit from that. If Lambert convinced Hodgson that he was worthy of a prolonged onvolvement, the team would be able to gain from what he has to offer. Sterling is a bright young player who will probably be in the 2014 squad injuries aside. JWP is in the same boat and I'll stick by saying he'll have a call before the end of the season. The competition for CMs under the age of 30 (32 by the WC) is far less stiff and his chances of an early call-up look good with a manager who actually knows who he is.
NA has a hard choice ahead of him for the 3 in the middle. Spider is a shoe in for one of the positions along with Lallana, Cork is down the list now so who does he choose, Davis or JWP ?
That's very optimistic. Lallana could well be in the squad for 2014, but there are plenty of quality wingers coming up. We haven't seen much evidence that Chambers will make it into the Saints first team, let alone England. Lambert will need to be pretty prolific for us in the next couple of seasons to stand a chance, because he's got the likes of Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge and Defoe to compete with. If Ward-Prowse continues to improve at the same rate, he'll make the squad for sure. He's looking more and more like a young Paul Scholes.
If it was me, Lallana would go on the left like at Man Utd with Davis/JWP or Cork/Schneiderlin in the middle Not keen on Lallana in the middle personally
