Having just seen the replays of Blackpool's goal, it isn't the best angle, but I fail to see how you can guarantee that it is a goal? Jose is behind the line, when he heads it his head is just behind the line, meaning that the whole of the ball wouldn't have been across.

I know Blackpool should have had a penalty but still, I fail to see how you can give that?

It was in , MOTD showed it using goal line technology , however I don't understand how the linesman could have been so sure it had gone in!

And what was Enrique doing standing behind the line...

If you watch the replay you will see the assistant ref was on line with the goal which is more than can be said for Enrique

as for the motd technology it's the bbc graphics department and can't be relied on as gospel
as no technology has been authorised by the FA how can they say theirs is correct

Couldn't understand why Enrique was behind the line ( what's the good of that? ) but the ball still didn't look as if it was 100% over the line to me. <sorry>

Anyone got a link to the MOTD highlights? I bet it's just that ****ty "technology" they use where they make everything look like a 90's Playstation game and then rotate it. It's completely useless because they're generating a 3D environment from a 2D image. You can see how misleading a 2D image can be when someone slams a free kick into the wall and you can't tell whether it's gone up or come away.

I didn't think it was a goal. Enrique's feet were behind the line but he was leaning forward. No way had the whole of the ball crossed the whole of the line.

funny you should say that, the side view image showed the goal post thinner than the goal line and if you know anything about football you'll know
the the posts and the lines are 4" wide

Looked in, Jose made a big mistake standing so far in the goal, should of been a very easy clearance off the line.

Thought it was in, though at the ground was close to it and was sure it wasn't. Don't think it was a penalty, but also could have went either way so correct results on decisions. Blackpool undoubtedly deserved to win on performance for me.

The BBC 'technology' showed it about half way over the line <doh>

Was much closer than what they made it look like.

The BBC technology showed it well over the line but that isn't backed up by the video evidence so I don't trust the Beebs evidence on this.

However, from the video footage i think it was probably just in so i'm not gonna complain about it being given.

Just wish those useless tossers at FIFA would get with the programme and bring in goal line technology. 99.9% of football fans want it, so who do they think they are there to represent if not us!?

It's hard to say from MOTD replays - AG is totally right about their 'technology' ... totally laughable.

I don't think it was in personally but none of that matters now... does it?.

what did you guys think of the penalty appeals
clearly Krul got a touch on one
Simpsons handball was completly accidental and Blackpool won the ball because of it anyway
I wasn't sure williamson touched the player, if he did it was a definate penalty but even if not he lost his balance because he was trying to avoid the tackle so it was probably a penalty anyway

Krul - definitely got the ball, great tackle by him - not a penalty
Simmo - handball was accidental and like you say they still gained possession - seen them given but for me not a penalty
Willo - clumsy challenge, Blackpool player made a meal of it which may well have swung the ref's opinion against him - but for me Willo made contact and the penalty should have been given

It's a big big decision to call, very very hard to tell to be honest, I think the linesman just took a gamble. To be honest, I think it's still a goal though.
Blackpool deserved so much more that ya know, I'll give 'em that one. It's cool.

It was in, but Jose shouldn't have been so far back, should've been on the line
