But United make £330million in revenue and show a profit of c.£30million after costs, transfers, tax, debt repayments etc. Why use made up figures when there are real figures in the public domain?
Fairynuff. Would you rather have the money available than paying it out in interest? This is the point I've been making all along. Never mind the ''we can afford to make the interest repayments''. Aren't clubs better off when they don't have any?
Of course they are but you will find no United fan has agrued this point. It's common sense, we all know we would be better without interest payments.
At no point has anyone said that they're happy the Glazers have mortgaged the club. Why would anyone be happy about that? You've been debating with yourself on that point for 26 pages! What you've been spectacularly failing to "prove" is that United can't operate with the debt in place and would contravene the rules of FFP which, as various people have spelt out for you in the simplest possible terms, is utter ****e!
Why don't we all just wait and see what FFP brings, rather than try to predict its consequences according to our personal prejudices? As an LFC fan for about 50 years now, I would hate to see Utd, or any club, go down the pan- it's not good for the game imo. What I would like to see though, is someone take the whole lot of 'em and bang their stupid heads together until they see that the ludicrous amounts of money in the game are unfair, immoral, and ultimately unsustainable.
Sod off, Eric. Where've you been anyway? This is the first thread I've seen you contribute to in a while.
The United board or the banter thread. I didn't post much on your board post Arsenal as alot of your lot were upset so I thought best leave you too it - plus I think us outsiders are barred from the Anfield Arms
I never said Manchester United would contravene the rules of the FFP. All I've said is, that should the rules be put in place correctly, they may not have it as easy as they may think. They may say ''Brilliant Manchester City and Chelsea's spending has been limited'', however they will face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal who by then will be financially sound. The only point I ever made is that both Liverpool and Arsenal will be able to match them.
Bastards was only asking as my washing machineis being weird and it smells a bit... not sure if its draining properly.. think there may be the flesh of a dead hooker in there somewhere...
