Joey Barton's contract saga

Havent seen this yet so I'll share the good news:

And in a further boost, the Sunday Sun understands Joey Barton is ready to commit his future to Newcastle in the coming weeks.

The club have offered a three-year extension to his current deal and, despite a significant reduction in his weekly wage, the midfielder is desperate to remain at St James’ Park.

This means that while there will probably be some more back and forth between club and advisors, Barton is almost certain to be lining up in black-and-white again next year – a huge cause for cheer for the Toon Army.

Good news though, he and Enrique we're the only players I was concerned we would lose and if this is true, we can focus our energy on getting Jose to stay.

 

I think Jose will stay. I reckon his bad run is managements fault in not having a replacement so hes having to play every game

 

Yeah he could be suffering from burnout, as the only cover is 2 wingers (Jonas and Ferguson), a CB (Kadar) and Perch.

 

He's made it clear enough he's happy here and want's to stay and we want him to stay so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to get something sorted out.

 

I won't be getting excited until it's rubber stamped. Apparently he was set to sign the Five and a half year deal everyone else is on a few months ago, but here we are...
