At the moment only Utd can compete with the billionaire owners. In my opinion without the finances of a billionaire there's only 3 teams that could realistically challenge for the league. Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool.

So sooner it comes in the better. Wage cap should be involved somehow too.

    Two words Diego **** off!

The bond issues raised approximately £60 million to repay the debt, the rest has been drawn down by the Glazers. I and UIR has picked up on the fact that the Bonds are due to mature in 2017 and may need to be repaid. NOW! UIR has questioned whether the bonds will be sold by their current owners. I believe that they will. I think this was a mistake by the owners in selling them on the NYSE as they have been bought by Americans who would like to make a profit. Problem number two with this is, if they don't grow in value, the Glazers will be in yet more **** as they need to raise money to pay off the current holders of those bonds and it will be interesting to see how they raise that money!

It could go as the Glazers have planned and they could live happily ever after, but I don't believe in fairy tales!

The Glazer family business strategy, never spend your own money, always pay off a loan by taking out another loan. The idea of investment is to never put money in, but pay your self a huge dividend every year.

25 ****ing pages. Unbelievable. This is what Moe, Larry and Curly are left with as ammo, "you're in debt, you're in debt, you spent too much on a 29 year old striker (despite being in debt), we're not in debt and we didn't want to spend £6million on a 29 year old striker so suck on that!"

They put some of their own money in when buying the club so as per usual you are wrong.

Guess what? They borrowed that too. They borrow to buy things and then borrow to pay the initial loan back. Face it, whilst the Double Glazers own you..you're goiing to be in debt. Thats unless someone decides to foreclose, if that happens Old Trafford will be a supermarket and the training ground will be a multi storey car-park.

OK, this has to be the most boring thread in the history of Not606 so congratulations Whatnext and SKiD, you have reached new levels of tedium.

We all agree that United are in debt. Why Whatnext and SKiD think it's something to taunt United fans with is beyond me. I don't know any United fans who like the Glazers or are pleased that the club is in debt. I've also found it ironic that the taunts of "you're in debt" have been mixed with taunts of "and you paid £24million for a 29 year old."

What is obvious though is that even with the debt pile that United have, they can operate under the FFP rules. They conducted and passed a stress test and they wouldn't be pushing for it if it was going to hamper them further. I would have thought even the thickest and most bitter Liverpool fans would be pro-FFP as it will allow the club to compete for the major transfers like Clint Dempsey.

    Who knows?

Liverpools owners would have signed Dempsey if they were adopting the same strategy as Sir chequebook manager. Sir chequebook manager knows he's too old to create a new team as he's 71 in December, so he's looking for a number of quick fixes. One of those quick fixes was paying extortionate wages to a 29 year old injury prone striker.

Liverpool on the other hand are being clever, they are cutting expenses and increasing commercial growth. Who will be in better shape in the long term? I guess it will be Liverpool. Zero debt, a young squad and getting stronger commercially even without champions league football, the world is their oyster when they return to the champions league.

Manchester United on the other hand have massive, debt, an ageing squad, an old manager and they sold their youth team to West Ham for £750k.

I think I would rather be in Liverpools position.

I wouldn't waste your time. Some of the posters in this thread are more intent on trying to wind United fans up than actually debate the FFP rules. SKD keeps telling us were in debt, over and over and over again. Guess what, we already know <ok>

Please guys, give it a rest. I know I don't have to read it, but it keeps popping up at the top of the page.
Does either faction honestly believe the other side is going to concede?

    Completely agree Saint.

The point is that there isn't any actually debate going on - at least Whonext was try to do this but KPR justs keeps repeating the same thing over and over again as per usual.

No you wouldn't. If you were happy with how things are at Liverpool you wouldn't be bouncing from thread to thread on the United board repeating the same old crap and being mocked over and over again!

As for our youth team, he's now been loaned out to Birmingham as West Ham weren't impressed with what they bought.

The rest of the youth team managed to finish 14 points clear of Liverpool last season with Will Keane as the league's top scorer.:emoticon-0165-muscl
