Only connection Eire is that the middle east consortium that has just put a bid in for Pompey is "rumoured" to be the same that was interested in buying Leeds. I asked if any of you had heard anything about it knowing that the bid for Pompey is real - wether or not they are the same party eating at Ken Bates' table - i do not know But can't be many middle east consortiums trying to buy clubs in the same time frame (namely after season has started)
Someone else posted that maybe they are the same group, but are just trying to force Bates hand - would make sense, but would Bates react to it?
Agreed, Becchio is easily one of the best strikers in this division in my opinion. One of the current few I'd say could cut it at premiership level

I've never doubted his goalscoring and in current form it'd just be silly to drop him. However we still should've replaced/provided competition for him over the summer especially considering he wasn't great last season My issue more is to do with the rest of his game and I doubt he would cut it at prem level, he could surprise me but I can't see it
