Well, sure, not true for you. I can imagine being embarrassed by my own child or spouse. Someone very close to me and someone I might hope to influence. Someone I might hope to be very sensitive about my feelings. But strangers who happen to support the same football club? I just don't feel it's in their power to make me feel embarrassed.

I tend to disagree, TIME. If fellow fans of the Club you support and love do things you find to be stupid, its very possible to feel embarrassed by them. Obviously not on the same scale but if a load of Rangers fans started a brawl in the stands or a riot in the town where we were playing a game, I'd feel embarrassed by their actions.

I'm with Frankster. We're not even an itch in Chelsea's pants yet we obsess about them constantly. I liken it to the clingy ex who feel they've been wronged and are always F-ing and blinding their ex partner to anyone that will listen and won't move on with their life. Comes across and quite sad and a bit pathetic.

Forget about Chelsea and everyone else. WE ARE QPR!

I don't agree with the personal attacks on an individual player (even JT) but for gawd's sake let's not get this mixed up with hating Chelsea. For those of us brought up in West London in the 60s, 70s and 80s disliking this poncy club and their perennially obnoxious supporters (both hooligans and stockbrokers alike) this is an intrinsic part of supporting QPR. Don't take my heritage away!!

Well did you not feel embarrassed when we got hammered 5-0 by Swansea. Not an action of yours per se, but still makes u feel embarrassed for the club you support. And as Swords said, Chelsea don't give a damn about QPR yet, we aren't on their radar and some people talking like this is our cup final is just stupid.

True AAGH. The local R's fans have a Chelsea hatred running through their blood. I can't really get it because I'm not from there but like I said before, the local boys have a special connection with the Club that us "outsiders" will just never get. Its pure heritage and culture and I can get a bit jealous of that sometimes because I know I'll never have it!

Why would I want us to play Brentford? Not sure how that's relevant?

I felt annoyed and disappointed. But not embarrassed. I just don't take to heart things over which I have, at most, marginal control. Even less so when I have no control. Equally, it's never occurred to me to tell someone I don't really know how they "should" or "shouldn't feel". Some people remember, perceive or believe in a rivalry with Chelsea. Others don't. So what? Let the ones who see a rivalry continue to see a rivalry and the ones who don't see a rivalry continue not to see a rivalry. Why would you care what's going on inside someone else's head?

As an aside, I see PLENTY of evidence on Twitter and elsewhere online to suggest a lot of Chelsea supporters have feelings of a rather stronger nature about QPR than you believe to be the case. Not all of them, granted. But plenty of them.

For me i grew up in London and had plenty of Chelsea fans at my school and they were as big headed as that muppet Osgood and fat face Harris. Always thought that they were bigger and better than they were, they simple had no class. Now I really do dislike the hoards of 'Romans new fans' complete with camera who boast about Chelsea when half don't even know where SB is?
Chelsea now are a shadow of what they used to be (fans), last season when they Sneaked in and out of QPR was the icing on the cake. Too many plastics with no history.
But as for the singing of JT songs, it has become old hat and boring which now sounds embarrassing. I will boo them and i hate them but won't do the songs about him because i have done that now and moved on.

I think I came across somewhat wrong. There isn't anything wrong with rivalry. I hate Chelsea as much as most QPR fans, all of my friends are Chelsea, bar a few and I spent my childhood taunted that I supported QPR. And I would never tell people how to think so sorry if it came across that way. I just find the constant obsession with John Terry by certain people, mainly on twitter, to be a bit strange.

Like me mate, hate chelsea and find it strange that people still go on about Terry and most of it is Media/Twitter driven.
