just on humberside now talking to burnsie. he said we've all but signed a new young & exciting player.

adam said he's a left winger. "young, tough, yorkshire lad" he said too.

Gerrard - "will probably go back to cardiff if they go up (and he expects them to), has 2 years left with them on a contract at cardiff worth 4x more than he's on here."

Hobbs - adam jokes that hobbs isnt anything special and that we'll try to get him for little money from leicester.

said they'll be 4-5 young players coming in and they hope to tie them up very soon.

post match interview AP confirms that we're bringing in some 'proper' players. ayala is very much on the list, same as hobbs.

I've had a look to try and work out who this left winger could be. Danny Rose is the only person I could find who fits the bill.

Now I know ill regret these next few lines after ive slept on todays performance. But after today's defensive performance I'll not be sorry if we don't get Gerrard or Mannone! They were absolutely ****e!

As for Dawson's 500th game he should be ashamed he was truely shocking. **** right off clapping the east stand!

I was pleased to hear Adam Pearson talking of new signings, I'd prefer Ayala and Hobbs over hoof boy Gerrard. We need a keeper and I'm not sure injury prone, no balls Mannone is the one we need!

We need a left back, most off all WE NEED A ****ING MIDFIELD

    Oh and a FAST STRIKER.

Well done Boro you were better than us in all 11 positions.

Maybe a cheeky bid for mcdonald after today?? Looked threatening all day, not that that is saying much given how we played but he still looked like he would be a decent acquisition

Agreed. McDonald was gifted his first two goals and with the third was too easy, although you can't take away all credit.

I think it was Emnes? Don't quote me on that though.

as easy as his hat-trick was he still has composure to apply the finishing touches..

Gerrard got shown up big time today - Ayala for me over him, but I'd take Hobbs too..

Why have we got Akpan on loan when he isn't even on the bench??

AP did say yesterday that we're interested in Ayala if the fee is manageable.

If the opportunity is presented to us to do a swap deal with Cardiff for Oli I'd definitely take it. However, I'd still try and get Ayala too.

Technically, Akpan's not on loan, he's just on trial.

Seems a little cheeky how we've taken him straight out of Everton's reserve team and plonked him into ours. He won't be happy. :p

He's been told he's got no future at Everton and that he needs to find another club, so I suspect he's glad of the opportunity.

I love how we are building the right way and bringing youth in ahead of all the old players that we have over the years but i still hope we bring in an experienced CM and an experienced CB, you need at least one of each or we would could fall to pieces after a couple of quick defeats.

However i would take this approach over the one we have had over the previous few years anyday.

Bring in Ayala and Gerrard and we've sorted our centre back problem. Bring in Danns and we've sorted of CM problem.

Bring in Ayala and Gerrard and we only have Chester as CB cover along with Cooper, bit light isn't it?
