Glad to see at least one Liverpool fan can look at this objectively I do agree with you to a point, but society generally doesn't. I don't think is a result of not wanting to offend minorities, but more a result of relatively few people being attacked or actively discriminated against for being fat, rather than being black, gay, Muslim etc. Rightly or wrongly, the whole hate crime aspect determines most of the laws and attitudes in this area. Personally, I doubt football would have taken such a strong stance against racism if the chanting in the stadium didn't boil over into attacks on minorities outside the ground.
I wasn't sure that this was law, I knew it was used a times but I don't think it should be so general. Each case has its own merits, to just cover everything with one catch-all ruling is dangerous ground. I have seen the consequences of this ruling being exploited, and it is not nice to see people lose their livelihood on the basis of one man's word backed up by this ruling, which was fabricated by the way...his word not the ruling! Yeah I partly agree, I think it is a bit of both, there is the not wanting to offend aspect and the higher profile of discrimination towards black, gay, muslim people aspect. There is I believe an apologetic view held in this country with regards to slavery and our part in it, and I think that that view subconsciously affects our attitude towards black people.
Yeah went out. Ended up in a club sat in the VIP area with the owners of said establishment.. Drinking free champagne cocktails smoking a shisha pipe.. I'd already had about 6 pints loads of tequila and lost count of rum an ginger.. Feel a tad ropey.. Got the mrs an her kids coming round today for a roast.. Really looking forward to cooking that.. Mowed the lawn though.. Did a nice brunch too, bagel slice of processed cheese, crispy streaky smoked bacon, mini omelette on top o bacon another slice of processed cheese.. Ketchup.. Brunch of champions..
Sounds nice. Just had an omlette myself for dinner, three egg cheese and ham. Brunch was a bacon buttie after golf. Got to be done, they do a great coffee there and a decent bacon buttie for three quid. Friday night was a funny one, I was out till one yet only had five pints. The lad I was with decided to drink Guiness so it's not exactly quaffing material and so I just went with that pace. Good though, no hangover and given I got the 6.30 wake up call held me in good stead. Really fancy a beer right now. Forcing myself to not get stuck in. Got a variety of ale and plenty Becks in the fridge but no Cidre.

I just had a quick browse of their board. I can't post there, my blood will boil and I've made a pact with myself on that. They're ****ing idiots, almost to a man. The decent lads drowned in a sea of ****wittery. Even foredeckdave is back to spouting some of his classic random made up bollocks. Laughable.
The sad thing is they dont think anyone notices the ****e the post. Not one of them would dare say any of the **** they say in real life, not one.
