He's lost his confidence in front of goal, and finds it hard to score, but whenever I watch him, he looks quality. Superb use of pace, great skill, is so difficult to jockey, and puts in very threatening balls, into the box. He picks out players well across the ground. I noticed vs Sunderland he created chances but your players failed to take them. I think he's an awesome player.
I do have to defend him here more often than I'd like. He was good in the first game this season, and not so good in the second as the ball movement was terrible in that pitch at Stoke, and it was a really dull match in general. The 'final ball' excuse is really dishonest though. He tries a lot of "high risk, high reward" type of plays which of course will be more difficult to pull off. He can create a chance from a dead play almost as well as Arshavin is able to at his best, but is also useful and hard-working throughout. He played really well for Ivory Coast apparently. A goal and 2 assists.
He never had confidence in front of goal. He consistently manages to **** up every thing around him, whether it's an appalling shot or an even worse 'cross'.
He's been poor infront of goal while with us, but doesn't seem to have that problem for Ivory Coast or while he was at Lille. i think this part of his game will improve. Otherwise he is a very useful player and i'm glad we have him.
I said that he'll come good this season and I'll stand by that. Also he dominated yesterday for Ivory Coast
Bigger league more pressure probably. You can't argue that he has been pants in front of goal since arriving.
And I was Joking Anyway Gervihno will score more goals, yesterday's game should give him much needed confidence and I can see him dominating Southampton
I think he's quality on the ball on in build up play, if he can find his finishing boots he'll be class.
He has'nt 'lost his confidence in front of goal' he has always been a terrible finisher. Good player just has a MASSIVE whole in his game.
