back at city as head of recruitment according to city section of the newsnow website sorry don't know how to do the link
You've got to be kidding me- Ternent back with us? The guy screwed us over for a decade or more with his horrible signings!
I blame Ternent and those appointed him for the oblivion of a club we became until the KC and regeneration, would never give him a job with us. Two words: Bamber and Finnegan!
didnt he die after suffering a brain tumour or something ? i know he was a good snooker player and had long hair , but other than that im not sure
Wide boy toss pot Tony Finnigan is an agent now, with Marlon King amongst his clients. I hope to **** they haven't remained in contact.
Theres nobody startling on his list of players - http://www.playersloungeltd.com/players.html Except Reo Coker.
I hate Finnegan, seen him on TV a few times . He was one of the worst players I've ever seen pull on the shirt for us. Wonder if Bruce knows Ternent is not well liked by older fans of the club.
Maybe they're going to get him to select a list of targets, then we'll look to sign anyone ho's not on the list.
Popular with Colin.... See Q17 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/blogs/mirror-football-blog/Neil-Warnock-s-maddest-moments-and-most-hated-rivals-including-Stan-Ternent-Gary-Megson-Wally-Downes-Phil-Thompson-El-Hadji-Diouf-article851558.html
i would have at least a thousand other people in front of him on my list for head of recruitment. Givenhis history with City not enough thought has gone into this appointment
Can't believe this, I agree with those that said he was the start of our downward spiral, wasted so much money on nobodies & then we had to seel the likes of Payton & Deano eventually at cut prices, so much knock on from this guy!
But was it his fault? We showed some ambition and backed a manager, and it went wrong. IF and its a big IF, he had managed to get the right players in and we had been promoted our decline may have never happened, we could have been a top division club for years, now how boring would that have been?? The club paid the money for his signings back then in much the same way as Phil Brown made mistakes when he was backed by Duffen and Bartlett. You can look back and blame Ternent, but in a weird way I'm glad he did **** us up back then - the time between then and AP taking over were some of the best times I have ever had watching City, although at the time it seemed ****e.
Only just seen this and I am disgustred. Not because of his quality of signings made - for every Dave Bamber and Tony Finnegan lest we forget he signed a Russ Wilcox - but for his comments in his autobiography. To so publicly state his hatred and detest for Hull I would put him below even Howard Wilkinson as the person I would least like to see at my club. Biggest mistake in pure reputation terms of the Bruce / Allam era thus far.
