I'm not sure if it's that Swords. Beckham or Gazza didn't seemingly have the 'grey matter' either. Genius can't just be measured by academic intelligence alone. Platini once struck a football from the centre spot and hit all four corner flags in succession. That is genius, although not in the normal realms of accepted intelligence. I sometimes wonder if the lad still thinks he is too great for QPR. Until he realises he is a Ranger and not a potential Madrid or Barcelona player, then he isn't able to fully commit to the cause.

The lad has so many advisors and sychophants guiding him that he still thinks he can run before he can walk. I hope he buckles down and realises his potential and does not waste it.

That's what it is Nines. Grey matter was probably the wrong term. I suppose what I mean is that if the lad had any brains at all, he'd stop listening to the hangers-on and start listening to his tutors on the training field and make a great player of himself.

There's nothing I dislike more than seeing talent go to waste. And this boy has bucket-loads of it waiting to be put to good use.

    This

Talent without application is a waste. I've spent the past 12 years watching junior football because of my sons and have lost count of the number of youngsters with enormous talent that failed to move up because they didn't put in the effort.
