I tried to post on the other thread on this - but apparently it was closed. To me to all seemed to be about empathy. Do we care about others or not. Swords and others - he gets paid well - sod him Majority - we need to have some sympathy - humanity... For those who can be bothered to view this - I think we need to care - see link....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7AWnfFRc7g
What is it with the Wurzels and the Lib Dems? They promise to cut all VAT on Cider or somefink? Bob, try staying Silent.
I dont vote, they are all crooks, they say what people want to get into power and then do the exact opposite and do whats best for themselves. Look at the tories, they ridiculed the labour gov for introducing widespread internet snooping power and then get elected and propose the exact same thing. Hypocritical ****ers.
Some institution! Herself and her bum buddy Regan are an eternal shame on the UK and US respectively. I've long since lost hope for the US but thankfully the British people have moved on from her tyranny and will never go back there as far as I can see. Bob, put a sock in it.
Just got back to my northern home from work, play and travels even further North. What was the thread about originally? My own tuppence worth on the debate which followed is that Scousers and Northerners generally are right to feel aggrieved about Maggie and that history will recall her as an extremely regrettable period of our recent political history. There is definitely a north/south divide. But it's more about attitude than wealth. Northerners generally are much friendlier and willing to put themselves out to help you. In the South east, London in particular, you could collapse in the street and people will walk on by because they are racing to get to the front of a queue to get to a ticket barrier. Nobody talks to anyone else in London. Whether that is because of fear that the other person is a nutter or because they regard other people as an unnecessary diversion from getting on with whatever they are doing, is beyond me. However some of you have never venture beyond the Watford gap should give it a try some time. You might be pleasantly surprised.
What's the deal with that God-awful "ey up" accent though? Its fu*king awful. I can't watch Emmerdale because of it. (Mind you, mine's not much better!)
Funnily enough as I listen to all sorts of accents, mainly, Yorkshire, Geordie and Glaswegian the one that really grates on me now is Southern Queens English. It does take some getting used to though particularly as I have to be able to understand answers I've been given when I question witnesses. When I lived in london, my colleagues regarded me as a bit of a cheeky chappy, up here they all think I'm dead posh the way I speak. By the way I agree about Emmerdale but it's the same with all the soaps. They pretend to portray real life but the characters are all pretty much stereotypes.
Posh you mean? Yes it can be annoying alright. I suppose any accent that's not your own can get irritating after a while (unless its a gorgeous bird its coming from of course!). The Geordie one can be annoying. The Scouse one just sounds very rough. If I remember correctly, the guys on here hate the Brummie one most. Funnily enough, I've always quite liked that one!
All very true in my experience Yorkie. Mind you, when I'm up in Inverness (hive of junkies according to my copper mate who lives there) even you lot and the Geordies look like soft, affluent southerners!!
Quite true, Brix. But you only have to look at the experience of the farmers to see why. In the Highlands, all the tenant farmers were cleared off the good land in the 19th C so the lairds could put sheep there which was more economic (and as a result the philosophy of the crofters is "we all stand together") whereas in the south of England, most of the farmers are wealthy landowners and can stand on their own. Edit - we've slightly wandered off the Diakite topic but that's what an international break does for you
Thanks for answering my question. It'll be great to have Diakite back. preferably in a midfield with Granero, Faurlin and whichever attacking midfielder happens to be on form at the time.
You've read too much and experienced too little. Try coming to your own conclusions once in a while on topics rather than regurgitating other peoples.
