The same with Mercedes, I had a joke earlier on about sabotage, but the fact is every team wants 100% from every driver, the millions of dollars paid is not done so it can go down the drain. I agree.
Personally, more than anything from within the team, I think Lewis is under pressure from his management team who want to turn him into the next Beckham at Mercedes. And add to that the media **** storm that is inevitably whirling around him. He must love Eddie Jordan right now.
He has also just sadly lost his Aunt who he seemed very close to. He may still be sad about that. I think he is being treated unfairly by the press, every day he is asked about his future when all he wants to do is focus on this race.
Alonso is actually panicking in this interview! http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/24184/8063762/Alonso-Fault-cost-me-easiest-pole- Really really not **** stirring, the guy is actually the most worried I have ever seen him!
If the F1 race is as exciting as that, i'll be happy. 3 championship contenders not scoring and the guy in 4th wins!
Just had chance to watch the highlights of Quali, what happened to Alonso? Pretty (extremely) rare that Massa out qualifies him, and the margin was huge?? Brilliant job by the McLaren boys, di Resta and Massa Now a McLaren 1-2 and low points for Alonso tomorrow and the Championship is back in the mix. To be honest I'll be happy with the Mclarens just being top 4 tomorrow. Edit, ah this explains it Looks like he thinks Ferrari has the fastest car!
Yes, and the bereavement is still so new. It seems that actually he's not that good at dealing with the media circus but his management people want to push him further into it. He has said he wants to do less media so it doesn't really make sense. He wants more WDCs and to become one of the greats and that should be his priority.
I missed the first half, what happened to da Costa? Great racing though, best I've seen from either GP2 or GP3 this season.
Alonso has good reason to be worried, poor reliability in the run-in cost Vettel the 2009 WDC and if he doesn't score points two races in a row...
Engine problem I think. Shame as I started to like him. Hoping for Abt to win again tomorrow. Surely he must be favourite even though he's 10 points (?) down, but Evans starts dead last!
He can't win now. I think the only way Evans can lose is if he doesn't score and Abt wins. Edit: Misread your post. Abt is 14 behind with 15 for a win.
All the big boys will be back on him like a fly on a piece of dung! Hypothetical points conclusion: Alonso: 172pts (If he gets 6th place) Vettel: 152pts (If he gets 4th place) +20 Lewis: 142pts (If he wins) +30 Kimi: 137pts (If he gets 7th) +35 Webber: 134pts (If he gets 8th) +38 Button: 119pts (If he gets 2nd) +53
Alonso will be 9th tomorrow with di Resta's penalty? He shouldn't really do that bad tbh, will probably finish around 4th without any external interventions.
Nope, di Resta starts 9th. He qualified 4th. The BBC starting grid includes penalties. Otherwise I agree, assuming that he can come through the field with relative ease. Remember Hamilton/Schumacher last year.
